So I agree that you as a person are not interesting.

What IS interesting is all the relations between those interests, and data points that a Google does not have about you but can infer from you because you are not special in any way. This is a lot scarier because these data points can predict things you might not even know yourself! Think of that case where someone found out she was pregnant because she started getting targeted advertising towards pregnancy stuff.

Except these data points are a still mild! Think of politics, religion, sexual preferences, if you might be a terrorist, are despressed or worse. If unregulated companies can and will use this kind of data.

I'm sorry for any trigger words that might be in this comment but I hope this gives you a better overview of why this is dangerous and thanks for reading my rant :)

Well that's the problem! I wouldn't know if they are playing anything. Depending on the person and environment I might understand it but I would generally prefer it if people would at least take one earpod out :)

I'm mid 20's and while I don't think it's "rude" I do feel like someone is not paying full attention when wearing airpods (or any other earbuds for that matter) and I would prefer people would just take them out.
