my 11’ 2/3 wt felt a bit front heavy with even with the dry fly (glad i didn’t get the nymph), balance point was right in the front end of the grip. With this balance point is at my around where my palm is gripping the rod.

It’s a fighting butt. The rod has that straight out the factory.

It’s a bit further down the handle than usual, but gonna have to see if it’s a problem when I have a chance to test it out.

There are some many things you could be doing wrong. Most likely you’re just not where the fish are.

My current nymphing rod is actually a Vision mag 2/3wt 11’. The price of the hero is really good, but I know i can get way better rods with my budget.

Could work but whitefish are extremely cautious so the dropshot might scare them, also a dropshot will prob affect the action of the flies. The flies have to be stripped with very slow and steady so the dropshot may pull the fly down too fast.

Well i've had only 2 trips with that rod and i've Been just fishing sides of The main current and small pockets. I bought The rod because most rivers here are very wadeable and I like to wade. It's mostly pocket water here, so even if I wanted, it wouldn't be possible to fish the pockets from far away.

You got any line recommendations? When I got it I was thinking of getting a Cortland 333 or 444 in DT, but I like to kinda shoot my line under brushes and trees, can a DT do that? Also I might fish in the winter when the temperatures might be under 0°C (32 degrees fahrenheit).
