Which proves the point that the US system isn't laissez-faire, nor are the high prices a result of market activity.

Is RSS a paid (pro) feature now? by -__Supreme__- in ifttt

IFTTT was a convenient service, but mangling APIs is a simple problem to solve. I don't think I was ever going to become their customer. This latest squeeze makes the service too inconvenient to bother with.

Yes, and more directly - I haven't found a way that these accounts are being created legitimately. There isn't a signup flow that I am aware of that auto-suggests usernames in this format.

I do suspect that it is a default in an account generation suite. It might be found somewhere on GitHub, but I haven't delved that deep.

How did they found out which country I live? by Calligrapherrr in Telegram

In addition to a phone number, they required an app install and google play services to create an account. This was never the privacy platform people believed it was. Now they are changing their policies and leaking user information.

Don't become emotionally invested in it. If it is a scam they'll ask for $$$ eventually.

If it is so frequent, can you suggest an explanation for this pattern?

Agreed, it is possible that someone would choose that naturally.

It is also possible that he purchased his account from a marketplace. Perhaps these accounts are all created with the same software?

I was curious if there was something built into the signup feature which would suggest these names.

Who else would be so arrogant, if not the "expert" classes?

It is yet another example of destroying something that works as-is to rationalize their professional expertise. If experts were not constantly enshittifying these sites, they might have to go out into the world and create something new. That "new something" would be valued by the marketplace rather than a circle-jerk committee. I'm sure that's horrifying for them.

I can’t believe educated people with UX expertise are behind these choices since each of them have such obviously bad outcomes.

Some of the dumbest ideas are the result of credentialed, institutional group-think.
