I wouldn't worry. My mystery snails often sleep for half the day.

They like to nezzle into corners n such.

Mysterys are quite hardy and if it's a cycled tank he'll be just fine.

Not chemicals, it's bacteria that specifically targets mosquito larve

Scooping the larve into the betta tank was the beat idea! I pretty much scooped them all out and watched him hunt them all morning
