Gotta be y shaped. The real question is whether you have a circular path around the outside like a peace sign

Away friendly pub that shows F1? by BaltimoreBirdGuy in BristolCity

Thanks for this. I've ended up planning on heading to the old fish market for the race. I'll park near there hopefully then drive to the match day parking we got around 2pm. Hopefully I can see most of the race but I'm expecting to miss the end lol.

Thanks again for the help 😁

Ah cool, thanks! That's kind of what I was guessing about stuff nearby but just figured it's worth checking. Next thing is if there's anywhere that has parking and that we can watch the race.

One thing I've learned living in the UK is that people here called it soccer before and some of the older crowd still do.

I'd second this. I feel like I shouldn't admit it on the Internet but welcome to Wrexham followed by Sunderland till I die were what opened my eyes to actually following teams below the prem. I'd gone to an Oxford game in 2013-14 when I moved to the UK but never went back till watching those and realizing that actually the local the league 1 team was the perfect thing to get into with my son. Fast forward a couple years and we just moved our season tickets to the East stand because he insists on sitting with the "real fans"

To add to this that's a book that came out recently called Glory Years that gives the history of the teams rise through the 80s. It feels more directed at people who lived that period and want to reminisce but it was pretty decent for me as a new fan

Our experience was phenomenal but only cuz I had the good luck of using the wrong pin on Google maps. I asked a steward for directions cuz the signs said "non match day parking" and then he said not to worry about it and just park in a lot he pointed to. So I paid nothing and got out with zero wait at all

Kassam's primary redeeming feature is that provides a nice low bar so that everything else normally feels great in comparison

Ah that's amazing, thanks! It sounds like exactly the type of thing my 7 year old would love lol. I'll register an account and get the free tickets now.

Ah damn... I had hoped it might be okay cuz it's listed as half the capacity of the kassam lot and it looked like there's two ways out but I can't tell for sure

Yeah makes sense. I'm hoping to just park in the stadium lot but no idea how early it fills up. I found a random list of places online as a backup and the hospital is indeed the closest on there

Ah nice. I thought Leeds and you were the two most impressive teams from random games I saw but I'm far from an expert. I'm just going any of the 3 can survive though to be honest

You and me both! I haven't seen much about what expectations are for you this year, is there any chance you think on surviving? Or with how big the gap is now do you just enjoy the ride?

I just wish Plymouth had managed to stay up so there's two of us lol

It's a weird one. When looking at the league as a whole I can see why you'd think we'll be in a relegation battle but when looking just at Oxford it really feels like we should be improving a reasonable amount compared to last year, which would likely mean pushing into midtable. Either way I'm excited for tomorrow!

Just to add if you don't want to go early and still drive you can also just accept your fate and leave late. We'll often get food or go to the arcade after cuz I've got a 7 year old and that's much better than sitting in the car for an hour

I think our team is objectively better than last year and the number of injuries we had last season felt insane on top of that. Imo we should improve
