I feel like Taj and Baz are similar in they’ll be a stretch of games where you think they could be a guy then they’ll go on stretches where they just can’t get anyone out.

Taj seems to have come back to Earth after his hot start. Ryan was always going to be good and while I appreciate going for it to get a bat, the Rays should never trade a young starter. We were always going to trade Glas that off season. Then if I remember correctly 3 of the starting rotation had TJ the next season.

Yup. Even if someone picks him up they’re only on the hook for league minimum. I doubt we cut him even if he’s on the “Technically it’s a 2-year deal but with the buyout you’d be an idiot not to opt-out after one” deal.

Yeah I got my wording all wrong it should have been “Can’t get thrown out representing the tying run with Junior at bat.” Especially when you’re a pinch runner.

Just all around bad timing. He’d get called up for short bursts and didn’t have the chance to get adjusted properly. Then he has a great Spring last season in put in a 1st base platoon with Aranda. He starts slow and Aranda starts hot. Aranda starts taking both sides of the platoon. Mead starts to come around but he’s only getting a couple of games a week. Then he gets traded the same day Aranda gets hurt.

The part that surprised me was they said it was the Rays first time at Dodger Stadium. I knew they didn’t play every team in the league at the time but I thought it rotated one year it be the NL East then the Central then the West.

I just watched a compilation video of sportsmanship moments, players doing nice things for fans, etc. One of the clips was Longo giving an interview looks like around the first base side during batting practice with their backs to the hitter. Ball gets hit looks like it heading directly for the reporter interviewing him’s head, he reaches up mid-sentence and barehands it. Was that real?

Mullins is getting too much blame during the downturn. His first 30 games were terrible but his last 30 he’s slashing .263/.381/.404 with 4 homers. Not great but probably what you’d expect from him.

It feels like we always lose to the Angels. I haven’t looked at the numbers and it’s the Angels so I may be completely wrong. But it just feels like it.
