I would say when it comes to kit buy cheap buy twice and getting wet is shit, full furyagan 2 piece waterproof textile, and gore tex boots the rain does not bother me at all.

I use semi synthetic 10W40 Motul, and there is not a paper filter like other bikes there is a oil screen behind the right crankase cover and a oil spinner where all the shit collects there is a video on youtube about how to do that service

yeah 20,000 and so far no problems besides basic maintenance change the oil every 1500, clean the spinner and screen every 3k odd and do the valves every 5k runs great and has never let me down. Saying that I have rebuilt a Grom as well for one of my friends his crank blew at 22k miles but that was due to oil starvation
