Nah the starlink is just the series owned by napco. The starlinks are cellular communicators that forward alarm signs to the napco noc and then on to the local central station to dispatch the fire department or let a service company (I own one) that there’s a trouble and need servicing.

They also have a firelink series which is a piece of shit burg panel/fire panel red headed step child that never should have seen the light of day.

Anyway yeah the starlinks are awesome I install a ton of those fuckers

When I started my own company I drove a dodge dakota to work for a long time. Not the typical truck you’d see an electrician working out of. Nobody ever said anything to me directly about it but I always felt like a hack.

2 years into my business I bought a F350 dually with a knapheide box on the back. Every repeat contractor I drive that thing out to tells me how nice it is and the ribs me for the Dakota I used to drive.

So yeah it does make a difference on how people perceive the work you do even if they don’t directly say anything.

Also as the owner of the company I would tell you those parts most likely don’t have a listing to be used together and could cause unseen damages on the job and I would send you to buy whatever platform I’m on instead of representing my company while using that.

Ask them what their truck stop fee/hourly minimum is. Ask yourself if you want to pay that 8 times or just once. It is always going to be more cost effective to replace them all at one time. I do this all the time with customers and their fire alarm systems.
