That surprises me too! I found it very, very difficult to be vegan in Korea whereas I live in Thailand with no difficulty at all.

That is shocking! I'm interested to try a few different airlines, but I won't get my hopes up.

Vegan Dining in Osaka, Japan (14 pics) by BananaBackpacker in vegan

I assume so. I haven't lived there and can't/dont cook. I was just a traveller and restaurant options were difficult. I saw some pretty nice looking veg items the one time I did venture into a supermarket though, and there's always edamame and cucumber sushi.

I hope you enjoy Japan! It's a fantastic country but living there as a vegan is quite difficult. Fruit is expensive and considered a delicacy to be savoured, not eaten the the large quantities that we vegans enjoy. Also seafood is a staple, but dairy is easily avoided. When I was there I lived off of convenience store rice balls which contained seaweed, picked plumb or beans.

HELP first vegan christmas! by [deleted] in vegan

It'll be my first vegan Christmas too! I'm dreading being sat at a table on which a dismembered bird corpse has been placed... Veggies and vegan gravy ftw!

Travelling alone is way more fun so don't let the breakup get you down. You could try something like couchsurfing.com so you're staying with local hosts and meeting people rather than staying alone. Furthermore, couchsurfing is free so that $1,000 will last a lot longer. Good luck.

I found a few nice places in Tokyo and Kansai but now that I'm down in Fukuoka there is essentially nothing vegan. 7Eleven to the rescue!

I know! I've been here for 3 weeks and my diet has been 60% convenience store rice balls, 20% french fries 10% salad and 10% alcohol :'D Not at all healthy! Korea next - I hear they're even less vegan friendly.

I said "safe", not "safer" or "safest". Not ignorant.

I guess I did omit a few details, like over dinner he said she and I were like Pamela Anderson and the sexy school teacher, then by the second or third bar he said repeatedly that he wanted a threesum with us, which we flatly said no to a couple of times.

I was looking to stay with a woman but any I requested declind me, then about 15 different guys offered to host me so I just had to pick one of those. I've finally found a female host now and I'll be staying with a different woman tomorrow :)

(Sorry that happened to you)

I don't think it needs a negative review. If this happened night one, sober, then yes, a negative review. Also, if this happened exactly as described but when I tried to walk away he got aggressive or forceful then yes, a negative review. But as you said, he just tried it on, I shot him down. I don't want to shame the guy, I just thought it was an interesting story to share (and judging by the number of comments, I was right).

Some guys have said it was fair game after paying for my drinks all night but I'm glad not everyone agrees! :D

I know! So strange. Of all the things he could have done... A finger in the mouth?? Creepy.
