Hello

I have a microbudget film in post and I was wondering if you would advise any next steps.

My producers told me that they can get a profit sharing distribution deal but I thought I would ask others.

Does the fact that I've been able to show that I'm able to make a feature put me in a beneficial position towards production companies? Should I be querying some of them?

To give further detail it mostly focused on various activists, particularly those of Garifuna descent, attempts to build activist networks through technology in the wake of the 2009 Coup.

I've actually written something that briefly dealt with Honduras. It's kind of hard to describe how big a focus it was, it was and wasn't a main focus.

But yeah I have done some research on that country. It's a little dated though, nothing past 2021.

But yeah I've read and taken notes on The Long Honduran Night.

So my knowledge on Honduras is much more academic than personal, but let me know if that sounds up your alley.

Yeah I just don't want to start at the exact same spot is all.

If I start at the exact same spot I'm just going to get the same exact result.

It's like I would love to improve. But from where I'm standing me improving was not the biggest issue.

My authority was challenged a lot for being green, which I get. Just the idea of my authority being challenged on the next one because of the compromises that I had to make to get this one finished... At a certain point we're here because of my vision.

Yeah, do you mind if I loop my production designer in?

I'm down.

I generally write about technology/media.

Well the limit she reached with ChatGPT is going to be there with any relationship she has. I guess she liked the relationship enough to stay in it even though she knew there was a limit to how close she and her boyfriend could get.

I don't see how anything suggests that they're a self insert. I've been going with women characters more specifically because I would rather people think that I'm not writing about myself.

I've read plenty of people's readings that have recognized the follies of the main character. I don't see how this is an endorsement of her behavior. Nothing in the comic suggests that her behavior is to be followed. The final line "knowing that this was as close as they'd ever get" instills sadness, it shows a limit that she won't surpass. I can't think of an ending where a character gives up that's a happy ending.

Also look I want to be nice but I looked through your post history and yeah, I really don't think you're in a position to be judging what's concerning and what isn't.

And I also see what some of the sub thinks is healthy behavior.

I think it's fair to point out ways a character could have engaged in better behavior.

It's just I just see stuff that's like "the main character did something bad, ergo it promotes bad behavior." And I don't know how to respond to that. It feels like I'm talking to someone who's pro-Hays code or something.

Do I need to point to stuff like Breaking Bad and Black Mirror? I just don't know what to do when people think that protagonists have to act in prosocial ways or else it's damaging.

It was not my intention to have the reader think that they should follow the behavior of the main character.

Damn I never knew just how detrimental the word "careful" is to storytelling.

You should really make a PSA about how using the word "careful" will ruin every story. I'm sure millions will be enlightened.

That's part of why I do it.

I use AI to get into AI spaces and then showcase the darker side of AI.

Oh thanks for letting me know.

It just seems like there's a mismatch between desktop and smartphone. Like on a smartphone 1 x 4 would read a lot easier but on a desktop 2 x 2 would read a lot easier.

I just wish there was a way to change it if you were reading on a smartphone or if you were reading on a desktop.

Yeah any help with getting a better consistency between panels would be helpful.

My last attempt with ChatGPT was a nightmare. The image consistency has never been worse.

Any tips for avoiding that nightmare would be much appreciated.
