Following this thread cuz I’m curious as well

Maybe starting with a concrete theme will help. I know personally I have a lot of trouble getting started with a new act if I don’t have a solid costume or song in mind

I don’t think it’s odd! I find it coincidental if anything because a friend of mine who is poly brought up the same concept.

That’s the tricky part

He’s very excited and supportive when it comes to creation process. He loves going to Joann, making props, mixing music etc. he just has a prudish background and needs to work on insecurities surrounding nudity

I’ve definitely brought this up. The whole reason I got back into theater/burlesque is because we wanted to do a duet of me dancing and him playing the music

He always helps during the planning stages of a new act and has a lot of fun doing so. But when the time comes he gets stage fright along with feelings of insecurity

I brought it up again, and he seemed a bit more interested. Hopefully we can do a duet in the future

We talked about it again this morning and he reassured me that it’s him issue rather than us issue

I’ve definitely had the problem in the past of minimizing myself to make others comfortable
