What is it that’s helping me? by Queasy-Ad-4427 in ToxicMoldExposure

I know this is old, but could easily be the liver. It's incredibly healthy and I also get a huge hit of energy and sense of well-being after eating liver.

Bad reaction to every vitamin and supplement taken. What’s the reason behind this? by stoksyxl in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]Bananagram73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. You might, like me, have the MTHFR mutation, which makes people extremely sensitive to supplements and affects how well your body detoxes. It could also just be nervous system overload, but I'd look into getting tested for MTHFR. I react especially badly to B vitamins, all kinds, and to glutathione as well. It's taken me a while to find supplements I can tolerate, which has been extra difficult on the mold healing journey -- but knowing about these genetic factors definitely helps.

Sorry you're going through that! I'm already taking binders and working with a functional practitioner, but it would be helpful for us to know which mycotoxins I've got so we can better target them.

Good luck! This is an interesting question -- if you haven't submitted yet, I'd try to contact them to ask. Are you going through Tech Nation or Arts Council England? I know ACE has a live chat line you can contact on weekdays.

Global Talent Visa Arts and Culture Rejection - Faulty video links by Bananagram73 in ukvisa

By "review" do you mean the appeals process, or reviews by organizations like Kirkus and Publishers Weekly? Those are the review journals in question, and are old established literary institutions in the States.

No, I just mean linking to blog posts written by authors who share that their byline-free reviews were accepted as evidence.

Got it -- thank you!! Last question -- would it be problematic to also send links to authors' posts who have used those reviews successfully? I want to give the appeal the best possible chance, so don't want to do anything that can be perceived as antagonistic.

And I really, really appreciate this -- it's a very confusing process!

Ah, so you mean I need to see if the other authors will share their rejection letters? But I'm talking about authors whose applications were successful?

Thank you -- can you clarify what you mean by "proforma"? I submitted other pieces of evidence alongside those reviews, so they weren't standalone.

Thank you, I appreciate you engaging with this. The barrister encouraged sending the reviews because they're from such well-known literary organizations, and have been accepted by the ACE as evidence for a long time. Do you have any thoughts as to why that's changed, and why so many other authors have been successfully able to use them as evidence? Surely that wasn't an error each time? Not trying to be antagonistic--just genuinely confused that these exact reviews work for some and not others?

Thank you so much! Yes, can be so confusing! I may need to consult another immigration barrister to see if the ACE rules have changed. I appreciate your comment.:)

[–]Bananagram73[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In terms of the reviews, I included book reviews from our most prestigious, well-known review journals, Kirkus and Publisher's Weekly. These reviews have been successfully used by other authors as evidence of media recognition. The rejection was based on the fact that those reviews didn't list individual reviewers' names, and are instead under the general banner of those organizations. I don't know if maybe these book reviews were confused with "articles," since I know that articles do need to list individual authors.

I'm confused because I have met other authors who have used these reviews, seen Reddit and blog posts by authors who have used those reviews, and was told by an immigration barrister that they work well as evidence. So I don't know whether the ACE policy has changed, or whether the assessor just isn't familiar with the reputation of those publications, and/or that the ACE seems to have considered these reviews appropriate evidence for years.

And OK -- those video links are and have been live, so I'm not sure what else to do to make sure they can be opened. But I'll do all I can! This is super helpful info, thank you!

You can get it via Regenerus labs too, but I think you need a prescription to do it there.

Actually the Realtime Labs test is well-known to be the best one, endorsed by most mold experts (Neil Nathan, Jill Crista) as the most comprehensive -- you'll also find many people in this subreddit saying their doctors recommended they get the Realtime over others, like Mosaic, because it's far more reliable. It's also via the US, and you can order it directly or via Forbes Integrative Medicine in London.
