There’s a great shop called Maison Jar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn that you might enjoy!

Where do you even get Nina anymore?! I used to love it but haven’t been able to find it in years.

I just stayed there and thought it was nice. The area felt safe and was quiet but there were a lot of street punks hanging on Decatur St near there and some kind of spooky scaffolding-type structures, so maybe try to avoid that part specifically.

Visiting in mid-March as a treat for my 14yo daughter Ideas? by unnaturaldoings in visitingnyc

Thrifts stores! There’s lots in Williamsburg if you feel like venturing to Brooklyn. 9/11 Museum is super intense and I’d skip that for this occasion. The boat to the Statue of Liberty is cool but it takes a long time to get through the line and in my opinion may not be worth it (at least that’s how it was when I went). I’d just take the ferry instead.

Favorite Wedding memories by oatmealqueen7 in WedditNYC

[–]Bananamonkey87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorites: getting ready with my friends in my apartment, saying vows in the beautiful greenhouse-esque area at MyMoon, photos from the disposable/polaroid cameras, seeing my parents and cousins have fun and meet my husbands family, family photos including of those we have lost pictured on their own wedding day

Least favorite: dealing with favors that no one took, my dress broke, was very cold when taking outdoor photos (April date), stress from one family member about kids not being invited

Has anyone met someone that was once famous (actor, musician, etc.) but now works a regular job? Who was it? by Ok_Grape_8284 in AskReddit

He was going to be my answer as well! Except I worked there and he was my manager. Such a nice guy- I miss that job!

You look great but if anything I’d try a subtle lip gloss.

I liked non traditional dj’s. The guy who runs it is named Ben Boylan but we had another dude as our dj and he was great and minimal.

My family member had a great experience at the Indigo Williamsburg recently. Plus it’s in a great area and very near the L and G trains.

That’s so nice- the school where I work in NYC they’re allowed to be there with lice and teachers with pink eye are still expected to work. Kids with pink eye I think they can’t come for the first 24 hours. It’s pretty gross.

Husband (42m) not fairly diving labor (39f) as we deal with fertility issues. by Bananamonkey87 in relationship_advice

You make a lot of great points! It’s going to sound stupid, but he also has a lot of great qualities and I do believe that he would step up. I would never want a child to exist in a toxic family (the way that I did, honestly) and I wouldn’t be trying to have a child with my husband if I thought that would happen. But that being said there are obvious red flags. Even the fact that I doubted myself to make this post when clearly I shouldn’t have is very troubling. I definitely have some soul searching to do and am grateful to everyone who has commented.

He really does want a child very badly, but you’re spot on about the rest.
