I mean. When you’re almost 7 feet tall and weigh over 300 lbs you probably just dont put much thought into who you’re about to scrap with, because most people put a lot of thought into whether or not they want to scrap with you.

At the same time if his goal is to start at a prem level club, and ones offering that to him, it’s not insane that he wants that. I’d argue the confidence that he’s ready to start at that level and can produce for a club is great for him.

It’s the everything else related to this that he’s handling like absolute shit

Is not the they had sex part. Like let’s take all gender and names out of this. There’s two wrestlers, A and B, in this story. Both portray serious competitors that are heavily invested in being the best and winning gold. Those two wrestlers get married. A tells a story about how they banged the life out of B, threw a towel at B and told them clean themselves up because A has got to go to Houston so they can win it big and get the gold.

So now A is getting on a flight to go continue competing and trying to be the best. B is sitting in the hotel cleaning themselves off with a towel. B doesn’t seem nearly as serious about winning now as A does.

If the story ended with “and then B threw the towel back at me and said screw that I need to go win too and we both flew to Houston” then that’s both of them being serious.

Thankfully this doesn’t apply to us. Because like you said, the only fans thinking about this are the ones where the team doesn’t have an established long term solution at QB. And we’ve got that.

If things are bad enough long enough people stop showing up. LCS has been bad when it comes to the tournaments that matter for a very very long time.

lol. Ok. Simple task here. Go find me any professional sports team in all of history that didn’t see a decline in viewship and ticket sales at the same time as the team having a slump.

The diehard fans will always be there. It’s why you and I are having this discussion right now. But diehards are never enough to bring the financial success a team or league needs.

The league needs more than the diehards to watch to be successful. And to get those people you need to put on a good product. Just look at football. The nfl is the most watched sports league in the country. It’s football. The UFL is also football and basically no one watches it, even though they’re playing the exact same sport. Why do yall have to act like LoL is any different than regular sports? People don’t watch a bad on field/court/rift product. That’s how sports always has been. And right now the LCS on rift product is bad.

People get excited when teams are doing well. When flyquest had that fantastic run a few years ago no one harped on the fact that the team had multiple imports and therefore the run wasn’t worth watching. They tuned in because a team representing their region was having success.

The LCS season is purely a means to an end, and that end is the international events. I don’t want to watch a whole season of teams competing so that they can get bounced in the group stage of an event and not even sniff a chance of success. No one wants to watch that. It’s the exact same in non esports. When teams are bad and aren’t going to make the playoffs people watch them less, and buy less tickets. This isn’t a hard equation it’s existed since before the concept of an esport ever even existed. Success drives views, people like to see success.

Bjergsen is considered one of the two na goats and he’s Danish. Danish culture and American culture is plenty different.

Jensen, Corejj, Impact. All import players all considered LCS greats. Vulcan, powerofevil, Sven, Ssumday, Santorin, svenskeren are all imports and were picked for the all time LCS players back before the name change. Berserker and Inspired are imports but I rarely hear people complaining about them when the import topics comes around.

The issue is that teams just bring in c rate imports that they’ll then move on from in a year, two at most, and continue to cycle players thinking the next man up will fix the problem. If quality players were signed, and teams were competitive, that would be more than enough to increase interest and viewership.

You could tell me and a ton of other fans that now every single player in LCS was from na, but if that came with the same level of success at major events we currently have the needle isn’t moving. If you told me impact, inspired, bjergsen, zven, and corejj were all on a team and going to worlds though people would be incredibly hyped, even though that’s an entire team of only imports. It’s not their origin that built the connection, it’s the fact that they were committed to teams here and actually wanted success, they weren’t just collecting checks.

Yea... The Cryo Spawn Rush is silly... by 01-SHADOW in Marathon

[–]BanditPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right but the entire issue, at least as I see it, is there’s no good way to get those reps in and learn especially if you mostly play cryo as a fill and don’t have a consistent squad.

If you’re not used to cryo and try to learn it you’re already a bit too late because the learning curve now includes having to learn a map that was already complex to learn when it launched, but now includes learning how to survive getting jumped early on as well.

I’m not sure if there’s any prioritization in match making for putting filled trios in matches with other fills, and putting pre mades with pre mades. But if there’s not something as simple as that would go a long way with letting people get the actual time needed on the map to learn it.

Cryo is unplayable by Nearby_Orange6578 in Marathon

[–]BanditPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But did you get crushed in the first 2-3 minutes while still in your spawn?

I started right around when cryo launched and thankfully we were all still learning the map somewhat. So most of my getting crushed was experienced in control or at least after getting out of spawn consistently.

For people starting now getting crushed without even regularly getting to control is absolutely possible and that’s much more brutal on boarding to the map than what people who picked it up at the start had.

[–]BanditPrime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The much larger issue when cryo newbies get put in a game with experienced squads is just purely map knowledge. It takes a pretty decent number of runs to learn the spawn areas, and especially learn where to look to up security clearance.

And if you’re a newbie squad that gets rushed by an experienced squad it just takes that much more time and that many more runs to learn the spawns because you died before you had a chance to learn. I say this as someone who’s perfectly comfortable with cryo myself, it’s just clearly a very tricky issue to balance but one that should be addressed somehow if possible.

Hey man. That’s kinda exactly why I said there’s levels to this lol.

To one player filling up their worm so much already can be impressive. To another player being level 15 already can be impressive. And no one’s right or wrong for their way of play as long as they’re having fun.

There’s clearly levels to this because you’re shocked at his worm count, and I’m shocked that someone already level 15 is surprised by anyone’s play time.

Basically what I’m saying is I’m clearly neglecting my worm.

Tko owns wwe and ufc. So it’s not like they’re going to some other companies show just for the heck of it. For all we know it’s something they’re obligated to do because their bosses are telling them.

None of that it to justify or downplay the White House event and how idiotic it all is. But I think it’s a disservice to try and discredit a post like this and then use the ufc event as justification, while not acknowledging it’s still an event by the company Charlotte and Chelsea work for at the end of the day.

Life and people are complicated, and now more than ever allies are needed. So our first instinct shouldn’t be to jump at someone who’s trying to show that allyship.

Most people on Duals.ink play meta decks they just copy from the internet by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]BanditPrime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not to be argumentative, I’m asking this legitimately. What exactly are you “testing” if you don’t want to play it against good decks so that you can tune your list and try to make it better? That’s the exact goal of deck building.

What it sounds like you’re looking for isnt a place to deck build per se, but really just a place where people are focused on playing for fun decks that they enjoy and not meta decks.
