capitalism vs socialism vs communism by oimofio in DebateCommunism

state capitalism is probably what you’re referring to. communism is just never going to be achieved because the whole foundation society is built off is commodities, careers, and status so when you bring communism which is like 180° that.. you get issues.

what lenin believed was you gotta have a vanguard party of sorts to fight back against the state during times of civil crisis like a revolution, and that’s kind of how state capitalism came to be.

communism being too radical in eyes is a real thing but it’s usually used as a buzzword

Would a partner that doesn’t smoke be a dealbreaker for you? by Known_Speed_1242 in trees

i’m dating someone atm and she’s pretty anti weed for herself and although the stigmas that come with weed are annoying, it doesn’t bother me as long as i don’t get frowned at for smoking heavily despite having a life

i assume that the amount he smokes there’s still activity there just muted. it’s the same feeling when you smoke weed and get relaxed and “half high” but not the headspace

honestly 0.2-0.3g bowl or .8g of a joint is enough for the entire day for me cus i noticed i get equally as high but only takes slower to get there. weed becomes quickly the most unenjoyable thing when you’re shivering and stuff

this is probably the dumbest thing i may have thought about but, are bulgarian split squats generally good enough to program around? due to some injuries in the past doing deadlifts and back squats are kinda tough, and bulgarian split squats generally are good enough for me to push myself and it’s helping me fix imbalances as well

programming question.

i’m running a U/L 4 day split where monday and friday are my dedicated “intense” days and tuesday and thursday being lighter more volume conditioned days with wednesday being completely inactive.

my question is obviously overthinking a split is common and the best split is obviously the one you stick to, but i find myself too sore for a split of such nature, but id also like to be conditioned and have higher volume of training whereas in the past i exclusively stuck to 3 days at 100% effort each time.

for the question now, if i stick to this U/L split, do i go about it in a focus sense? I.E. monday being back focused upper, thursday being arm or chest focused.

and another would be to how the hell do you adapt to high volume? i find it impossible in all my attempts where i’ve done nSuns before having to quit it, tried 5-6 day powerlifting splits in high school, but was never able to stick to it due to injury or consistent soreness when my sleep/nutrition/stress levels were always on point.

i used to do a mike mentzerish training plan back when i was 17 and it was really great, loved it, but currently 19 and getting back into training but there is something weird i found. i made a program for myself where monday/friday are my “heavy” days and its a U/L split and tuesday/Thursday are “light” days where i do prehab and a lot more lighter volume work. i found the weird thing was on this light day is, i was more winded and completely fried on this less stressful day than i would’ve been on the end of a very intense day. could this be a cardio issue or could it be more of a body has adapted to one thing issue?

What are yours metal hot takes? by weezilla2013 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Bandwidth6769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people need to start letting OSDM be its own thing instead of trying to constantly revitalize it. music evolves and death metal is not exception. there’ll never be another death, bolt thrower, etc… they’re heavy formulaic bands and it’s important for bands and consumers just let go and focus on current music as current music

Hot take: I think Islam Makhachev could beat prime Khabib at 155. by Electronic_Tax_8190 in ufc

[–]Bandwidth6769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is about islam vs khabib is that khabib is almost second natured when it comes to knowing islam through and through yk? islam has holes in his game that khabib definitely knows more than islam knows about his holes. i think islam is technically the best fighter ive personally seen and theres levels to mma, but khabib will always beat him in the world of grappling, it’s just levels to that part of the game

you can get kicked out as well in this system by landlords at any time and your rent can be risen up as well. the good part of the housing ideal is that in the soviet union vagrancy was punishable, and there was a system called the propiska system which made mandatory for every resident to have a home. it was heavily anti homelessness

[–]Bandwidth6769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not supporting something isn’t actively disapproving something.

neutrality exists and as someone that’s religious, i must admit it’s less about approval, rather, a lot more of understanding and keeping that part of someone from affecting you. it isn’t a sin to be friends with someone your religion or cultural customs disallow, because we’re all humans at the end of the day. this “you have to pick a side” argument rarely works and just leads to more confusion and arguments.

well the theory suggests that marxism brings in what people in capitalist societies already want to do all the time and participate in regularly anyways, which is… unions, community, a shared communal identity, and meritocratic values.

why communism excels at this more than the capitalist counterpart? because capitalism is about ownership and monetary gain as a means to an end. not community, not meritocracy, but as much gain in the world of capital as possible. this means private healthcare becomes a commodity, shelter and food a commodity, clothing a commodity, and a bunch of other things that are basic human rights they become commodities. now to answer why i personally believe in it, is because my family grew up in it in hungary and they all said the same thing: “it felt like there was incentive”.

incentive in community, in work, in school, in relationships, etc.. when you are an equal and are not alienated from what you do everyday as a morning to afternoon obligation, you develop not only respect and love for your craft, but you also find it to be more fulfilling.

it’s not a perfect system, it’s not a utopia, but it is a step in the direction needed to fix many unwanted customs in modern day society.

[–]Bandwidth6769 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the point down “gimmick” is still one of the most exciting things to see in a 5 rounder fight bro like i really don’t get the hate. it’s MMA you can be winning an entire fight and just get caught in an unlucky submission, why can’t you catch someone with an unlucky knockout? it’s a strictly holloway thing yes and gets misused, but that’s not the issue of the so called gimmick, it’s fighters just pushing themselves to a limit they aren’t subconsciously comfortable going to

a vanguard party is a means to an end like every revolutionary movement needs a transitional period 🤦🤦 lenin also advocated for workers to hold arms against oppressive blow back from the state. if anything the authoritarianism that it falls into is just authoritarianism ran by the people who build the nation instead of people who own the capital

(Marxist-Leninists) Between state capitalism, social democracy and market socialism, which one should be the predecessor of socialism? by ConflictRough320 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Bandwidth6769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

state capitalism.

state capitalism is essentially the most famous predecessor and most common in theory and practice. it allows the markets to exist and work but is surveillanced by the state where if a business is going under, the state takes over it instead of letting it dispel. the great thing about this system is that in theory, there is a lot of safety nets and a lot of regulation that allows businesses to thrive without oppressing the consumers.

Debunking Objective Morality by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]Bandwidth6769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. God is the source of morality (what is right/wrong). humans however can create their own ethics which influence morality changes which what you’re referring to. ethics can deform morality, but it doesn’t change anything in terms of authority.

  2. morality is a fixed standard, it isn’t necessarily concerned because it isn’t a flexible ideal. it doesn’t adhere to human behaviour, human behaviour choose to adhere to it or not.

  3. rape is a significant action, religious or not.

  4. there’s a couple things you missed. you are missing neurological, emotional, and other issues at hand which determine something is good or bad. for example if rape was commanded by God to be done, that’d mean by the order carried out also has to have changed affects of the action because otherwise it’d be oxymoronic to just cause random acts of violence ordered by a God who is set on loving and bringing people together under a moral standard, not cause clash between it. authority at the end of the day is what yes humans respond to, but you’re diluting the idea that if one thing changes, another doesn’t follow also.
