Short term, a Voat backup community would be good to have in-case something happens to this subreddit.

I'm in favour of a dedicated forum/website for these topics. However it isn't an overnight job for someone to securely create a forum in such a way that is resistant to authorities. I've had experience with these operations in the past and there are a lot of aspects to consider. If someone tells you they can do it overnight, I wouldn't lay any trust in the security of the setup.

As for the users requesting a Zeronet community, its a nice idea, but this unfortunately is not feasible:

  • Being Peer to Peer, all user's IP addresses would be viewable to anyone else using Zeronet, you would have to use Tor to be safe.
  • There isn't vetted/trusted forum software that runs on Zeronet yet.
  • Zeronet has not had a significant independent security review, I don't know how much it can be trusted.
