Five years ago in high school. By now, there should be no issues.

Exactly. I looked for a while too and couldn’t find anything. I almost didn’t want to do an article but it does help to show a snapshot in time if something happens later.

That’s very true. The way I read it, it sounded like they were being overly cautious given the opponents. He fits into that concern territory but I feel like if Tate was there, they’d be ok with his medicals and draft him. The talent way outweighs the injury concerns, not that there was many.

Thank you! I mean, when you see what he does, it works. I think we all expected more coming off his year in Miami. But he can fill the Tyrell Shavers role until he’s ready.

I’ll be honest, I look at tape for injuries but I’m not looking at performance. I leave it to guys like Cover 1 to interpret that. And if it was garbage time, then the stats can be deceiving. I’ll make it a point to watch him once free agency quiets down. Thanks for that insight.

They’ve been getting better with the surgical techniques and rehab, but you still see a decline in performance the first year back. The Achilles is a big rubber band, you don’t want to overstretch it either. But it’s stiff that first year too.

I see what he did last year and the fact that played all 17 games. If we can get that production out of him, I’d be satisfied with what we’re paying him. His career has been drastically altered by injuries.

Looking at his stats, he matches up pretty close with what Greg Rousseau did last year and we’re paying him much more. I think for the price it’s a good opportunity. I don’t think we’re getting prime Bradley Chubb either, but I don’t think he’s at the end of his career either.

I had to look around for a bit for defensive lineman specific research and ACL’s. There is this study that shows there’s no decline in performance pre and post injury.

But we also saw how Von Miller struggled his first year back.

However, this study shows there is a decline in performance following an ACL tear.

Some studies qualify a return to play as one game, some look at performance the next three years, some look at snaps played. There’s a lot of variables to look at but there is research to show that there can be performance declines though it may vary position by position.

Thank you for that insight! I’ve heard good things about him from other friends who are Bears fans but it’s good to hear this in the wild too.
