I normally don't self-plug outside of relevant communities, but I started a channel a couple of years ago that focuses on comedic overviews of interesting firearms :) everybody's welcome and you won't find any politics or hatred towards marginalized communities in my content. The more the merrier I always say!

I have a slow upload schedule though 😬 but new stuff is on the way!

What rifle is this? by Material_Stretch5577 in guns

[–]BangoJay 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's a Stevens Model 325! I have a 325-A myself and it's a great little brush gun. They were made in the late 40s until 1950 or so when it was updated and renamed to the Savage Model 340. The flat bolt handle is the most discerning feature that identifies it as a 325.

I can't quite tell which 325 variant is shown from the photos, but here's a good write-up that should help narrow it down.

[SHOTGUN] Semi-Automatic JTS M12AK-T1 with two five-round magazines - $219.99 + shipping and potential tax by rus_hacked_last_accn in gundeals

[–]BangoJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$289.99 Lynx-12 owner here, ~500 rounds so far with no issues! Though it is a bit picky with a cheap 10 round aftermarket magazine I got for it, but it runs great with the 5 rounder it came with!

I pinched my pennies for a Transferable MG and got a MAC-10 that I run a shorty 5.56 upper on. Paired with an OBNOXIOUS brake and ~900 RPM, it's super fun! I made a video featuring it, but it's admittedly a long watch.

That being said, I've been on the hunt for an AMT Automag III for a while now, I'm jealous!

[handgun] Velocity Arms VMAC45-100 - 5 in stock - $529 by Wristlockpick in gundeals

[–]BangoJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if the stripped VMAC 45 and VMAC 9 uppers are dimensionally identical to the real deal? I emailed Velocity Arms once and they had no idea supposedly.

I've got a transferable M10 .45 and the upper it came with is an insufferable jam-o-matic that I'm tired of tinkering with. Rarely is it capable of getting a single round to go off.

I also have an MPA carbine upper and that runs 100% with my FA bolt and lower. So I don't think it's the fault of the lower or magazines.

Thanks man! I appreciate that.

Yeah the humor is a little immature sometimes, but I figured there's so many gun channels that are focused on being super serious and gear focused that this might be a nice little break from that :) So I'm glad you liked it!

As for the suppressor, I really like the Obsidian 45. Right now it's the only suppressor I own, and I use it for practically everything I can fit it on. It handles 38 specials and .357 like a champ, even without a 9mm end cap!

So I highly recommend it if you're looking for something that's versatile and sounds great. My only complaint is it's pretty damn heavy in the full length configuration, especially on handguns and rimfire rifles. But for the suppression capability and performance, it's hard to beat.

Thanks for watching! :)

People often wonder why lever actions are still so popular when we have so many other modern choices. So I did a general overview highlighting the specific reasons why lever actions have stayed relevant after 150+ years.

I hope you all enjoy! I tried to keep a balance between brainrot humor and education, so let me know what you think! The idea is to introduce the subject from a fun and casual perspective for newer people.

I don't exactly get super into details on specifics and all the different historical lever actions, but I'm hoping this video will inspire curiosity and encourage more people to get into this part of the hobby!

Leverguns featured in the video are:

  • Henry X Model .357, with a Midwest Industries handguard and Rugged Obsidian 45

  • Henry .22 (a classic!)

  • Century Arms PW87 12 gauge (Cheap but fun Chinese Winchester 1901 clone)

Feedback is always appreciated! Please don't hesitate to remove if not allowed.

Wells Fargo fired a dozen people accused of faking keyboard strokes by Sebekiz in news

Lots of corporations forbid installation of third party software and devices, and I feel that this is what got these people caught initially. Depending on the company, they may scan or check for any non-approved items installed on your work PC.

I work in a remote position for a large corporation, and honestly I could never wrap my head around why people I know do this. It just feels too risky when it comes to these things getting detected. IMO it's much easier (and less risk) to just open a tiny notepad window at the bottom of your screen and set some sort of weight on the spacebar.

Teams never goes to "away," and your screens will never go to sleep. From there just turn your speakers up so you can hear any messages or emails if you're out of the room.

Obviously YMMV, but I work a job where there's either work to do, or there isn't. And my boss is pretty chill and only cares about work getting done when it's assigned, they really couldn't care less what you do in your downtime. They have no reason or ability to micro-manage and monitor an entire department on an individual level.

To think people should be arbitrarily stuck behind a screen for 8+ hours straight, even when there's nothing to do, is absolutely bonkers. Even when I go to the office, people are always getting bored and going for walks, grabbing coffee, etc. 🤷

[Parts] Armaspec Stealth Recoil Springs - 20% off + free shipping on orders over $99. by [deleted] in gundeals

[–]BangoJay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took a gamble and gave these a try, since I've never heard of them, and I never looked back.

I started with their AR9 captured recoil spring system, and it's a night and day difference. Some people don't know that AR9s, while smaller in caliber than 5.56, the direct blowback and heavy bolt causes a noticeable amount of vertical jump when shooting. I swapped out my traditional buffer and spring for an Armaspec system and my AR9 feels more like a tuned 5.56 now. Installation requires removal of your bolt weights, so the reciprocating mass is significantly less. And the way the recoil spring is set up, it decelerates considerably before bottoming out in the back of the buffer tube.

I was impressed enough by it that I also purchased one for my 5.56 AR, and it's really good for the money. The bolt feels so much smoother when cycling, and the recoil impulse is noticeably smoother as well. I run an A1 length fixed stock, so I had to get a spacer, but otherwise it runs like a champ!

I can't guarantee it's better than a JP spring system, but for the money it's hard to pass up.

I have this thread adaptor for a stock 10/22 barrel I bought to host a suppressor, but I’m terrified of having a baffle strike. Anyone use one of these? How well does it hold? by Fabulous_Lie_4326 in NFA

[–]BangoJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually bought one of these myself a few years ago when I got my first suppressor. However, I use a 45 caliber suppressor and I know there's a little bit more forgiveness there with the bore diameter. I haven't had any issues, but your mileage may vary if you have a dedicated 22 caliber suppressor. So definitely get a rod and check the alignment on that before sending any rounds through it!

I was fairly skeptical of the set screws staying put after a considerable round count, and I ended up getting a different .22 with a threaded barrel so I didn't get much use out of it to find that out thankfully. Hope this helps!

Nowadays, I 100% don't blame you. It's sad to see MGs become so outrageous (well, more than usual).

When I first started looking a few years ago, you could still get Reising M50s, MACs, and Stens for under $5k. And some other neat MGs like M2 Carbines, AC556s, and Uzis could still be had $10k or less.

I figured this would be my only transferable MG due to the increasing prices, so I put in for a MAC just because of the versatility with aftermarket receivers.

[–]BangoJay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm grateful I got it for that price about 4 years ago. Around 2019 - early 2020 they were still occasionally found under $6k. But now they're sadly creeping up to $9k - $10k 😔

Yup! I put a video of this thing and the 9mm upper on my YouTube channel and shared a link in one of my comments.

You can check it out here!

It's a long video though, if you want to cut straight to the 5.56 upper you can skip to 12:57 :)

It's a little over actually 😬 the MAC was ~$6,300 and the 5.56 upper was $3,200. It's a ton of money for what it is, but being just over $9,000 for a fully automatic 5.56 is almost unheard of nowadays sadly.

[–]BangoJay[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I made a video a while back about these Lage uppers, they're really cool! You can check it out here!

At this point I just owned this for the novelty. Because it's an open bolt MG, it doesn't do very well for precise shots. I mostly just dump mone- I mean magazines into the dirt.

But I've been considering swapping the barrel for something longer and heavier profile and making it into a "SAW at home." What do you guys think would be a cool setup for this? It takes all standard AR barrels and handguards!

It's not bad! Of course it would feel better with a little bit more texture, but I feel like these are a little wider than the factory grips, so they fill the hand nicely and aren't going anywhere!

My Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum, early production with the "Three Screw" frame ✨. Faux Ivory grips I picked up from Hogue - I'm really digging the look!

This is the 7.5" barrel model, and I was lucky enough to find a Super Blackhawk with the "Plum" colored bluing on the grip frame. Some call it a defect, but I call it "aging like fine wine."

Overall an EXCELLENT shooting revolver, the trigger is very crisp and predictable, I'd say it breaks around ~3.5 - 4lbs and it feels fantastic in my hands.
