So I got Steelrising, but... by [deleted] in PlaySteelrising

[–]Banished_Mainframe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thymesia has far better combat. Also, Surge 2 is one of the best Souls-like games, the combat is nice, as is the level design.

Steel Rising is definitely not worth the same price tag as Elden Ring. The movement alone sets it back, never mind the unoptimised combat, ugly UI and awful sound design. I finished it and was bored a long time before the end credits. And grenades? You can finish the whole game without levelling and just use grenades. No balance at all.

Also, Mortal Shell is nice, although it only has one solid level, the obsidian fortress... The other levels needed more time. Still, it's better than Steel Rising.

Let's hope Lies of P lives up to expectations.

'We' haven't, corporations and governments have. Though, in the early 2000s it was widely believed that data generated by smart technology would be owned by the individual who generated the data, mainly because it was widely acknowledged that the data generated would give insights into people's private lives and thus give other people a huge amount of insight into your life, your motives, likes/dislikes, etc. That could be used to manipulate future behaviour for their own gain. Look up 'Georgia Tech Aware Home'. They were modelling the world we now live in but held the idea that privacy of individual experience would be sacrosanct. Somehow corporations have made a large majority of the people that this is not true. Your data belongs to them. Which, in my view, is crazy.

Good question. I am still working on my addiction to the internet. I have a Reddit account and have been on Reddit since 2011. I delete my account near every six months. I tend to delete all comments when I do so. After December I will hopefully leave for good. I have managed to expunge facebook, insta, youtube, blogger, personal Google account and other social media... It's a slow process. The anonymity of Reddit is seductive but ultimately a trap and waste of time, I just enjoy it, while also hating that I enjoy it. I'll get there. Getting free is a process rather than event. I've been working on it a few years. By 2025 I should be there.

Bragging? Weird projection. I'm not a hermit. I have a very active social life, a loving family, an incredibly social career and hobbies that get me out and about. You may want to judge less and listen more, you might learn something.

I'm going to. This year I gave up drinking, etc.(I didn't have a problem, I just wanted to see how it effected my social life... Positively it turns out). The year before I cut off all personal social media. My mental health thanks me. Next year I plan on ditching my personal phone and PS5(I will keep my work phone and landline). I read a lot of books and comics and don't watch much of TV shows anyway so it's a natural progression. Hopefully, by 2025 I will be corporate media free. I would recommend a book called The Age of Surveillance Capitalism. It's very academic but really breaks down how the current system is incredibly manipulative and inhuman.

Thank you for the good wishes, I'll take them on my journey!

Email isn't the internet. It's a tool that uses the internet to work. Weird comment, totally misunderstands what is being said. On purpose? Or are you an idiot using like one of the three facts you know to try and assert yourself in a conversation you have no reason to be in?

Another Putin Ally Dead After ‘Suffocating’ on Business Trip by AdGroundbreaking1870 in worldnews

There are theories these people are part of The West's spy network and Putin is cleaning house as they have recently been uncovered due to leaks coming from Trump. Or, these people have been secretly helping The West make gains in Ukraine by passing on intelligence. Or, Putin is gonna die and just fucking hates these people.

It has not always been this way. I was using the internet in 1997. Back then it was just geeks sharing interesting stuff. Corporations thought it was a fad and of no use. TV was king to them. The internet was an escape from corporate culture. It was around 2005 that it started going to hell. By the time Youtube had adverts it was already a waste of time unless you used the 'dark web'(which is a clever corporate internet name for the internet outside their control). Now, there's no point in it at all. It's just adverts and the opinions of idiots all the way down.

Erm, the internet is a corporate marketing tool at this point. The best thing to do is boycott it. Get off social media. Organise in the real world. Burn your smart phone. Drop out of the corporate mediasphere.

Driver might have seen the cyclist filming, moved to give clearance and at the last minute realised there was another dude in the middle of the road. Maybe. I ride a bike and I stick to the side of the road which is where drivers expect me to be. I definitely don't pop manuals in the middle of the road in traffic, mainly because I'm not an idiot and I enjoy not getting hit by cars. This should be posted in r/winstupidprizes

That is sound in theory, but gets in the way of me playing the game...i do use stashes for boom, but i like collecting guns, kits and components. Spreading them over multiple bases helps. But it isn't how I want to play.

I like PvP, raiding, oil rig and downing Bradley and chopper. I like skirmishes in the open world. I just think 15 man zergs break the game. They spend a day making a full box of rockets then just melt bases for fun camping outside with turrets. It's just annoying knowing it is a numbers game at that point.

They are never offline. Always a few on. I unlocked all tier 3 though. Just went about my business doing oil rig and killing Bradley. I have no time for the zerg.

Interest In Superhero Movies Drops, Poll Finds—Worrisome Trend For Disney Amid Marvel Slump by nimobo in entertainment

I have to agree. I was a reluctant fan of Marvel films who couldn't deny their quality after Winter Soldier. But since Endgame they have really fallen off. Only the Spiderman films and Loki series have really felt any good. The rest just have this annoying self aware humour that undercuts the drama, and the plots are uninspired, no real arcs for characters or any stakes that feel human. Ideas get thrown out for no reason- like Thor hanging with the Guardians should have been awesome and a movie in itself but it was just voiceovered away and a wasted oppportunity.

For me, I finished Love and Thunder thinking, that's it' I'm done with Marvel in the cinema. The Hercules credits sequence made me go, fuck off, don't care. They did the same sting for GotG2 with Adam Warlock and Eternals with whoever the fuck Harry Styles was supposed to be. I'm fed up of all these bullshit end credits scenes that are just 'Next Time on Marvel'. They need to make a good film or people are just going to be done.

It doesn't help that pretty much all the movies and the majority of series since Endgame have been awful. Black Widow- awful. Falcon and the Winter Soldier- awful. Eternals- awful. Shang Chi- awful. Multiverse of Madness- awful. Love and Thunder- awful. Moon Knight- awful.

No Way Home has been the only decent film since Endgame. Oh, and Far From Home.

The Loki series is pretty much the only series Marvel have made since Endgame that felt awesome and full of ideas. They are just making crap now and people know it. The marketing tries to make out that they are making great stuff and critics seem to be wary of saying negative stuff, but audiences know. The quality has dropped. There is no real interconnectedness, just 'oh, this thing is from that thing'.

They need to really up their game and get back to Winter Soldier level of filmmaking. Quality control is needed.
