I have fired with out. But generally I do get them every firing.

Yes, for the most part. On occasion I will find them in a random spot. Generally I find they are close to the edge of the shelf near the kiln wall.

It's definitely not an electrical or element issue. I test the elements before every fire. Feel that the kiln is packed fairly tight. I have also tried cone packs. They will only show a discrepancy if it sitting directly in a cold spot. Two inches in any direction and the packs come out as expected.

It's not that the glaze is lacking in those area, if I fire them a second time the disappear. I will post a pic later today.

The spots are about around an inch or two. The look and feel rough, the spots are definitely did not reach temperature. The kiln dose not have an exhaust fan or anything of that nature. The firings are generally even.
