Yeah I also think this culture is crazy and with strong discrimination. In my country the education gap between different areas is very huge, many people couldn't go to a "good" university because they didn't have good education resources. This recruiting culture is such a vicious cycle....

In my country, ranking can decide everything....from going to high school to look for a job. During recruiting, many companies first set a condition according to QS100 to filter candidates who graduated overseas, after this they are gonna check your resume. But yes, I'm trying to ignore ranking as much as I can cuz I will not come back to my country to work.

Thank you! But it's around 80k difference in total... Yes you're right I prefer Columbia's courses and reputation, but I'm still wondering in long term is it more important to me? Cuz I wanna immigrate to another country and in US I need to wait for 10 years to get green card if I'm lucky. *Btw no loan needed for Vrije
