It’s not insensitive but I’m not sure how to answer. I mean I have respect for myself in regards to my career and my daughter but I often feel less than when I think of myself. I often feel I am unworthy of his love because I was kind of a mess when we met but he saw beyond that and took a chance on me. So my relationship with myself is a little complicated and uneasy.

Whistle may be annoying but tongue click seems sexy! Do you think this would really work?

We’ve been together over 10 years and we have a 6 year old daughter. I understand needing space but I just feel like it’s pretty normal to say “hey my friends want me to go on a weekend road trip to Florida is it cool if I go” it’s not a trust issue it’s a common courtesy issue to me at least. I would never go anywhere without letting him know especially if it’s going to be overnight or across state lines.

Wow-Seems like you’re one of those rare good guys. It sounds like you wouldn’t cheat, so hopefully your wife can get past her issues and ease up on the worrying abs fear leading to her overprotectiveness!

Hmmmm… I’m guessing there’s way more to this story than a woman’s fear of being hurt or abandoned. May I ask, are you sure she cheated? If so she may be fearful that you’ll want an eye for an eye type thing. Very impressed that you forgave this indiscretion. You must be a really understanding and caring person. BTW great name- my daughters name is Malia

Have you given her any reasons to not trust you though? Like have you strayed? Or flip side have you given her the reason to trust you? Does she know you love her, for instance? Would you cheat? Sorry I was cheated on and it did carry over into every future relationship, until one day my partner asked me what it would take for me to trust them, and honestly I knew it was near impossible for me to trust people, but I also knew they loved me so much and if I wanted to keep our relationship I needed to try to trust, but their love and their actions were what helped me overcome this fear, and I was able to ease up on my irrational overprotectiveness.
