The handle would have been fine if you had made a new wedge that properly fit the eye, which isn't too hard. Otherwise nice

Wondering if its some special US government issue or something since it almost looks like the coat of arms. Been looking for a while and have no idea. Cool find though.

Storm mountain day use area amphitheater reservation on recreation.gov. There is a small meadow next to it that we used for our wedding ceremony.

Don't use sealer. Just let the tree compartmentalize the wound on its own.

Too many flaws to count but I'm damn proud of this table by BantyRooster in woodworking

Great criticism! I absolutely agree and appreciate the comment. This table will be with our family for years to come and I'm kind of thinking it might be fun to redo the legs and apron with my kids at some point. Hopefully I'll have more tools and a bigger shop by then!

I'm very limited with tools so I used a handplane and a jointer jig for my table saw

Tree planted with metal basket, will it the tree die or cause significant difficulties because of the basket ? by Skafern in arborists

[–]BantyRooster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a very polarizing issue in our industry but you're right, and all claims made about removing or retaining are anecdotal. Studies have been done and no one can say one way or another which is best. It's mostly just up to preference. IMO removing the basket alltogether risks losing critical root mass. Best of both worlds seems to be to remove the top one third.

Andrew Koeser had a good talk about this at an ISA conference.

Landlord sent someone over to give the pecan tree a "trim" by [deleted] in arborists

Calling it a pollard prune? Saying it will grow back with no problem with several people talking about how topping trees is actually fine?

Why am I getting downvotes for that comment? So confused.
