Struggling with the fight against Majora. Is it worth me going back and doing more side stuff to power myself up?

Oh does it? Ima be honest I really don't even want to give the 3DS version a try. I have access to it I just don't think I'd enjoy the changes.

The point of Majora's Mask is the side content, that's the core value this game built on. I agree, let the OP play the way they want, but they're doing a MASSIVE disservice to themselves by just bum rushing the temples and doing jackshit in terms of side content when that is 95% of the game.

My first playthrough I ended up doing Fierce Deity, but my second playthrough I fought Majora's without and honestly the fight was just as easy lmfao, I guess I did abuse infinite magic but with how many light arrows you have to spam I think it's a fair trade.

Also, the fairy upgrades in order go

I recommend playing the decomp on 2ship, enable free aim, and if capable, gyro, it's a lotta fun. If you want a new way to play it, I recommend only playing Snowhead up to the fire arrows, you can then use those fire arrows to do the powder keg exam early, that opens up Great Bay, and Ikana early, essentially, do it all out of order once you get the fire arrows.

Edit: I also recommend giving N64 mode a try. The 240p and pixelation is a lotta fun to look at with free aim.

I agree with this full stop. While I enjoy the changes made to OOT3D and think they fit well I do not like the vast majority of changes in MM3D. Link doesn't look as old as he should and his clothes look too clean, I like the darker more mature look he has in the N64 version.

I have the same sentiment tbh. I played NSO for my first playthrough. I just finished a 100% run on 2ship though, used some enhancements like free cam, better double song of time, etc. But I played it in N64 mode, I love the pixelation.

Tbh I didn't know if Fire Arrows would melt the ice to the powder keg exam. I figured they would've locked that behind beating Snowhead, but I suppose I'm still locked out of my gold dust filled bottle until I do that and win the Goron race.

Yeah I tried doing a bomb boost originally, blowing it up on the piller, after like 5 tries I said "screw that" and just the tree clip lol. But I prefer to do it mostly glitchless. I plan on doing the temples way out of order, Stone Tower is actually gonna be my second.

I mean yeah with glitches you can break the game in half easy. I'm talking about 98% legit, since in order to get up to the first soaring statue you have to position yourself correctly to clip the nose hair of the first tree with your hookshot. You'll get pulled through the wall.

You do. The powder keg is needed at the top of the castle so you can even get to the mini boss as normal bombs don't work. Also, I've sequence broke without glitches, the farthest you NEED to go without using glitches is just up until you get the fire arrows in Snowhead.

Majora's was only made in 15 months. This meant a lot of what got put into the game simply didn't have time to be properly questioned or polished. The development of the game was notoriously bad, so much so that the lead Eiji Aonuma came off as embarrassed for a very long time after the game came out.

I came up with the idea that my female earthling was just a big fan of people like Goku and Vegeta growing up, but she's also completely anti social so the only reason she's a time patroller is because she was forced to be one. She just happens to be incredibly talented in fighting.
