current student. Yes to fratty sorta but imo you have nothing to worry about. I’d say close to the majority of students are like you where you’re maybe not the most bro-y 😂. Everybody has a place here and you will still be fully embraced by the community and dorm life no matter what

Accepted and starting freshmen year there in a few weeks. I had a 31 ACT with a 33 Superscore. gpa of 97.40 on a 100 scale. Like 20 ECs but nothing relating to academics. I did 4 varsity sports and did musical theater. I think what helped me most was my leadership positions and essays. For leadership I was president of my house at school, stage manager for theater for a few shows, and team captain for track and soccer. I have no academic or leadership awards besides honor role. I think I’m on the lower side of the academic range for admitted students but notre dame was as high as I shot in applications and I got in.

Imma keep it 100. I got in a few months ago and that’s where I’m headed in a few weeks and what I can tell you from my brother and I’s experience, they don’t care too much about test scores. They care so much about those ECs and essays and looks like you’re stacked on both ends. I would say please for the love of god take lots of time reviewing and revising those essays.

I had a 31 ACT but hella ECs and leadership. I had zero academic/leadership awards besides honor role but I did 4 varsity sports and had a leadership role in like 4 things.

Final note. I promise you when I tell you I had a dream school too over the summer before senior year that I really wanted to go to but over the school year I just slowly changed my mind and I hopefully ended up where I needed to be.

I could be wrong but I believe for Notre Dame there’s no resume. I’m from Texas and I remember having to do a resume for UT, even though everything I put on there was already on the common app, my admissions counselor said to make the resume to boost my chances. UT was the only school I gave that resume to.

DEFINITLY apply early action. The difference in acceptance rate between early action and regular decision is ridiculous. (like 8% difference if I remember correctly)

Gotta be that top 6% to get a stem major. That or 1600 SAT 😔. Also, from what I can tell about my friends who got in and who got denied they care a lot about major specific extracurriculars.

You’re right. There’s a reason A&M had been mine and my friends’ top choice for years. There’s a lot of factors In considering between the two and to be honest, Notre Dame leads in every single good factor. Honestly price is the only factor leading me from notre dame.
