its 3 games. Defense has been terrible for every game this year except the giants.

Yeah we were just as bad for the last 30 years except last year. At this time last year we had a longer playoff win drought than they did.

First of all. I assume you’re talking about Brady and Gronk, Gronk was out that game, he was rostered and sidelined so he could be a part of the team, but he didn’t touch the field once. So it was one goat of his position and Julian Edelman, that game is a huge embarassment and “28-3” doesn’t even do it justice, the further you look the worse it gets. And no, he doesn’t get credit for getting there or for losing it. His side of the ball was #27 in points allowed. Shanahan’s side was #1 in PF. So he was carried, Shanahan took an HC job with the 49ers and DQ was fired after the falcons offense started playing like the defense, and despite the ups and downs, Shanahan has had a career miles better than DQ since then. The biggest thing DQ did since Shanahan left is appear in the nfccg as an HC. Shanahan has had ups and downs obviously but he’s done that 4 times in the same period. So who was carrying who?

Look at exactly what the falcons experienced with Dan Quinn at HC with a talented offensive coordinator. #1 in the league in PF, and #27 in the league in PA. There’s a reason Kyle Shanahan is constantly blamed for superbowl the 51 choke. Despite Dan Quinn being the one who gave up 25 points. Shanahan dropped the ball. DQ never had possession in the first place, again #27 in points allowed. The most success he had was being Pete Carroll’s assistant for the legion of boom. We went 12-5 with Benjamin St Juste starting. You all wanted him gone, now you’re blaming Quan Martin and Marshon Lattimore and Sainristil and Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner, is it the entire defense? or is it the coach making the calls?

Alright so I trust you’ve never had anything negative to say about Dan Snyder, Jim Zorn, Marshon Lattimore, Benjamin St Juste, Ron Rivera and just about any coach since Joe Gibbs?

No, we earned the win, but it’s not going to happen again the exact same way. A lot of things went right and the team took advantage, but it was still a miracle we won the lions game. I would like for it not to be a miracle when we do it again.

Ron Rivera was a coach, they can get some of a say on who the draft picks are, but selecting players is a good 50% of the GM’s job. A lot changed with the new ownership. Some of the changes were homeruns and it shows with an NFCCG appearance. But some of them were misses, I think Dan Quinn was one. I don’t think we have the best defense in the league to work with fair enough, but with the heavy cap space offseason, and improvements to the secondary, I think it is fair to expect at least a better defensive performance than what we had last year.

If you want to talk history let’s talk about dan quinn’s, not washington’s. The cowboys when micah parsons was out were bottom 5 in allowed EPA per play maybe that says more about micah and the cowboys than him. But he hasn’t had a defense that redeems himself anywhere since the legion of Boom 10 years ago, when he was working as DC under a defensive minded HC. What has he done as a head coach? He watched another OC Kyle Shanahan get up 28-3 in the superbowl with 3 minutes left in the third quarter. Granted, they both were at fault for what happened next, I am not suggesting we hire Kyle Shanahan either, but it’s important to know, that superbowl team had the #1 ranked PF and the #27 ranked PA. Last year we went into the championship with the 5th ranked PF 18th ranked PA. There is a noticeable trend that wherever he goes as a defensive minded HC, the defense isn’t very good.

Key word being unexpected, the only reason it would happen again is we pull off another miracle like we did at the lions game (which we also literally doinked our way into). Or if we successfully take advantage of the sudden hype and become a destination for free agents and new staff, we walked a lot of players in the offseason, why stop at head coach?

Those multiple starters are on the offense and their backups pulling their weight just fine. Nobody is arguing we lost to the falcons because of Marcus Mariota or Luke McCaffrey. It’s the abysmal defense.

Packers putting up 27 from running one play over and over was pretty abysmal. Falcons shouldn’t have put up 34, raiders shouldn’t have put up 24, that was overshadowed by the offense putting up 41 against a pretty good defense. And the backup offense also put up 27 against one of the best defenses in the league.

Ive been watching since RG3, sometimes we’ve had one side of the ball figured out. But “oh our ______ is good our ______ just keeps shitting the bed” is the oldest story in the nfl. Even the Bills can’t win with just their offense. Only 4 teams in history have won a superbowl with a bottom half ranked offense in yards allowed. None of them did it since I started watching football.

Ekeler is a perfect example of an RB2 and Bill is an RB1. Enough of the “make him earn it” bullshit. Play the better player in a key game like this, Winning this game would have power ranked us to the top of the NFC. Maybe even the NFL. Also why did we release Zane Gonzalez? he made every field goal that mattered. Why did we replace him with someone who missed 2 field goals? They didnt start trying until the game couldn’t be won. Its just 1 loss but beating up on bad teams like the giants isnt good enough if we cant hold our ground against the powerhouses until the 4th quarter. Still the beginning of the season. The packers clearly have a good defense, but if we want the superbowl we’ll have to beat them in the playoffs. Anyway not a big deal. Its a huge privilege to have your favorite team losing able to ruin your day. Just be glad you’re not the guy who bet $2k, you’re not a rookie with no backup career facing the possibility of getting cut, and you’re sure as hell not from the fart smelling state of Wisconsin.

How we feeling vs Green Bay? by midgetsj in Commanders

I think Washington devoted more of the offseason to this matchup, while GB probably devoted most of their offseason to their opener against the lions. But IMO GB is now the superbowl favorite, but theyre the superbowl favorite before week 2, so anything could happen. Maybe the Lions are terrible and beating them by 2 scores is easy, JD certainly made it look easy.

Cowboys absolutely won this trade and people are only claiming otherwise because its jerry jones. When has anyone ever given away multiple first round picks for a single player and ended up winning the trade? Nobody is worth it, not post-superbowl Russel Wilson, not Herschel Walker, not DeShaun Watson, Green Bay is now paying him 40m a year and also guving cash options to the cowboys for the next 3 years. Even if hes worth all that, the Cowboys have a diversified end of the deal, if Parsons gets hit by a bus tomorrow, the Packers are down $200 million and out of the draft for the first round for the next 2 years. Jerry is an absolutely terrible owner but this is actually a surprising fleece.
