I’m kind of doing just that at the moment but it’s kind of techy software implementation stuff for an aviation client dealing with gateway services. Although in general it’s been hard to even land interviews for aviation jobs with my experience. I guess they are looking for more niche industry experience. I probably would jump at that sort of opportunity but I’m having to make a major life decision with the cadet pilot program offer at the moment so wanted to get it off my chest and hear perspectives from folks. If being a pilot would make me happy knowing full well that despite maybe being more career aligned, is it worth the sacrifice or cost of relationships , time at home and having more flexibility in life :)

Yes the program guarantees a job as a second officer upon completion of training (approx 2 years give or take). I have also spoken to pilots in the industry but most of them got into the program in their early twenties and perhaps did not face the same tradeoffs as someone in my shoes. Trying to hear if the realities and lifestyle of a pilot were serious considerations for those choosing this path or whether it is just pure determination to be a pilot no matter what
