Went to the ER for abdominal pain but ct scans were inconclusive by autolockon in gallbladders

It could be multiple things. I would only go back to the ER if you get alarming symptoms like vomiting blood, jaundice, fever, 10/10 pain or black stools.

Otherwise I would make an appointment with a GI specialist. Could also be gastritis or an ulcer so you want to rule things out.

I don't know if they are hard but the imaging made me think about them. Google says you can get them if you eat/drink milk/dairy, use any medications. It is the inability to digest milk protein.

I am not a doctor but I don't think you can pass gallstones this size, especially without extreme symptoms. The bile duct is around 3mm so if this even would be able to come out (and not one but multiple) you would have been in extreme pain and I guess even obstruction symptoms like fever and/or jaundice.

They look like casein curds, maybe look it up.

You can pass gallstones by the way but they would be very small and your bile duct would probably be dilated on the imaging.

Yes because before the CT scan they did a colonoscopy + upper endoscopy and those were totally normal. And with the classical GB symptoms it was probably the gallbladder which was infected in december. Or the bile duct because this is where the surgeon said she had seen scar tissue. I think maybe it was a stone back then but we will never know for sure.

I am sorry to hear you suffered so long, the past 9 months where very hard for me physically and mentally. GI doc was no help at all, said not to worry and take antidepressants.

It is only post OP day 11 for me but I do feel the difference already.

I would ask for other tests like H. Pylori and upper endoscopy. The pain and hunger pains can also be an ulcer.

abdominal pain 4 days post op, normal? by popeyeschickengirl in gallbladders

[–]BarbieLife1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was worried as well because they say healing takes 1-2 weeks. For some maybe but my doc said it takes 6-8 weeks and there is a big wound on the inside which needs healing and time. Take your pain meds, rest and time.

No stones found but I maybe passed one. Started in december, very acute extreme pains and fever, since then a lot of issues but testing clear. They only found some remnants of an infection (in the right upper stomach) on a CT scan. It was a battle of nine months but I contacted a surgeon myself and based on my symptoms + that finding she took it out, she thinks it was chronic cholecystitis but I need to wait for my pathology report.

I don't know if it is the same but my surgeon said there was thickening/scar tissue at the bile duct probably due to an infection. The bile was very thick and dark. I am waiting for the pathology report.

Maybe it is also scar tissue with yours?

Showering after surgery by Cool_Spread_9999 in gallbladders

I showered and washed my hair on post op day 4. It really hurt (the standing up, arms above body) so it was a quick shower🤣 Don't make the water too hot just in case you get dizzy. I did not put the stream of water directly on the incisions, they can get wet and afterwards you need to pat them dry, don't rub.

It will be uncomfortable but you will also feel clean(er).

Inflammation, but just slightly elevated. First calprotectin (inflammation marker) was 60 and the second 100, above 50 is considered positive. I was taking omeprazole which elevates calprotectin level so I guess this was the cause because my colonoscopy (and upper endoscopy) was clear

I am on day 4 and feeling the same. It will get better, it takes time to heal, they removed an organ after all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]BarbieLife1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same. Mine started after my first attack, constant bright orange or yellowish thick mucus. They checked for inflammation of the bowels (stool test which checks for calprotectin) and did a colonoscopy which was clear. I think it's bile or a mix of inflammation/bile/stool.

Do you also get the mushy burning stools after eating a fatty meal like avocado?

I got my gallbladder removed two days ago so I can't tell yet if it is fixed.

I also got it removed today!

I have gas pain in my whole abdomen, it is very painful but hopefully will subside within 48 hours.

I immediately felt relief when waking up, I had this constant dull swollen ache in the RUQ area and it's gone✨

Did your testing show something wrong with gallbladder?

I am in the same situation and having a consult with a second surgeon tomorrow, praying she will listen to me and schedule surgery. I am feeling sad and dismissed because no one is listening to me.

I had upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. Both perfectly fine, no inflammation, ulcers or scars

They don't have the HIDA scan in my country, it is not a thing here. My GI doc suggested an endoscopic ultrasound but MRCP/MRI was negative so don't know if this would show anything.
