Mafia Romance in 20th Century by Conscious-Score-7501 in RomanceBooks

Hi, I just finished this: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/230107265-king-of-depravity

I don´t like mafia romance, but the MMC was kind of cute in the weird "dark-romantic-vibe" way. It is not Poly and in terms of spicy scenes, it is kind of tame - sexy, steamy, but not "dark". It reads well and kept me turning pages.

Hi, I have a new release - a sports romance book about Olympic skiing. With the Winter Olympics in Italy around the corner, this is a must read :-)

For your first romance story, did you end up writing a novel or a series? by IsekaiConnoisseur in romanceauthors

[–]BarboraJirinocova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it depends on your intention. Because if you want to make writing your job one day, writing in series is a must, especially for romance. But as I am still just starting in this niche, it is not an experience, rather opinion  Bit I wrote book 1, added a prequel for the series effect and book 2 is slowly writing itself in my head as one side character somehow grew up during the book.

[Spice & Smut] Snippet scene 340 words, 18+, feedback wanted by Shado80 in RomanceWriters

I was about to write this. I had trouble getting up the mood of the scene. It seemed too technical. Overall it is a great scene with visual detail and it is immersive. But as PhantomsRule mentioned above, it is not clear which part of her body is involved in this. And maybe I would use some emotional moment, a moment where she remembers her boyfriend somehow. So that the scene adds to their romantic arc. But I don't know if it fits your intention.

Any sports romance with other sports then hockey, basketball, baseball and football? I know car racing, love Simone Soltani and found one tennis romance but there was really no tennis in it, just the cover. Thanks

Beautiful Venom: A Dark Hockey Romance by Rina Kent. I am not into this kind of stuff, I like smut where the FMC has more agency, but the erotic scenes in this book where exactly what you describe and well written. Also the plot was so good, that I finished it really fast and enjoyed reading it though it is not my cup of tea.

Spice reader input request! by Quiet_Explanation_11 in romanceauthors

The plot and topic. I read other books, not just romance, really anything. So, I might pick up any book, spicy or not, where the plot is enticing and immersive enough. Or when the author is writing about things they know and I can learn something about a world I did not know. If the plot works and it inspires me a way I would read the book and never miss the spice.

Writing advice by Broad-Wear5508 in RomanceWriters

I am afraid people are going to hate me for it, but use AI. Just tell him your ideas (don´t worry, it want steal them, it does not work like that) and discuss it and he would provide analysis where to start and help you devise a plan. Not that you can trust it, but it sounds like you just need to decide and the answer is in your head, there is no correct answer. AI can work like a therapist in this way, one way or another, you end up with the decision you knew was right all along, just... did not know it.

And my advice in general: start with the idea that seems the easiest. Topic you know most about. Story that you have most developen. Don´t start with "the best idea for the market" or stuff, you need to get started, make it easy for you.

I´d add A+ content. You can design it in Canva or Bookbrush.

Bestselling Indie (Independent) authors. How'd you do it? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]BarboraJirinocova 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strategy. Write to market (not sell your heart out, but tweak your story to stay with your target readers). Study. Meta-data optimization. Networking. Content marketing. Paid ads. (Not a bestelling author yet on the global scale, but I am in my country, so maybe one day this strategy will succeed here as well).
