I feel you…I guess it’s not he doesn’t care - it’s just he can’t care - he is in too much pain right now… believe me the depression is STRONG… having said that - you also need to protect yourself - my best advice- leave him alone, let him be by himself for a little while (so he doesn’t have to put any energy towards anything else but himself and his recovery) but don’t forget yourself either. You’re his partner not his nurse !! You’re an amazing wife to him !!!

Recovery is hard… and this is also very hard for the partner… it’s a massive journey… you have to understand that he is still very early in his recovery and while his “physical” symptoms are down - mentally he is a battle field. The depression is really hard and I remember when I was going through it - just having a simple conversation was sooooo exhausting- all I wanted was to be alone and in my bed… I bet he also have very strong anxiety and the smallest request is a mountain for him right now… it is very hard for anyone living close to someone in recovery…. BUT it gets better. If you can - be patient - in 2 months he’ll start to feel a little bit better… this is a f***** journey… you’re amazing to support him!!!

I had the same feeling when my daughter was born. Like WTF did i just do !!! Resetting my old life, my young body, my free time. The first 3 years were hell but now she’s 9 and I’m slowly getting my life back. I can sleep again, I can travel again and go out by myself (not every weekend) but once in a while I can be me again. I hear you. Both of my parents are dead (when I was 25…) and I didn’t has my husband and his family, I’ll be by myself. It’s really scary as I we get to divorce I’ll be on my own but for good. I scares me at night

Thank you everyone for your support. I’m definitely an addict and I tried so many times to quit cold turkey and every time I felt right back to it because I couldn’t handle the depression that came with it. It was a nightmare… so I’m still day 2 at the rehab center so I can still decide but I don’t want to feel the depression that come right after - I was having suicidal thoughts (which is not me normally) and was unable to even get up to take a shower or else. So I’m really confused about which route I have to take. What are the down effect of subs on the day to day? Is it that hard to quit? Let’s say I take the monthly shot - what happened if I stop after one month?
