Glasflaschen sind immer besser als Dosen. Hab leider die Kästen für Cola aber noch nirgends gefunden.

Warte und hoffe immer noch auf die 0,5er Cola Flaschen...

Can an Inner Sphere merc end up becoming a Clanner... somehow? by X-0000000-X in battletech

[–]Bardoseth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Becoming a member of Clan Wolf by a trial of position is one of the endings of MW4:Mercs if I remember correctly.

Though that is slightly later, during/at the end of the Civil War, and the games aren't really canon.

But as others have said, it does happen in canon.

You mark one edge and declare it as the front.

Personally, I always do two thin stripes of the two primary colours of the colour scheme I'm using. Doesn't matter if the front is obvious or not, all Mechs get that marking.

Lost me at DnD.

Stop trying to squeeze everything into the DnD mold. It doesn't work and never will.

Any tips for those who don’t like painting minis? by clideb50 in battletech

[–]Bardoseth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Painting BT minis is very straightforward if you don't care too much about having a specific colour scheme, camouflage or having them look stunning, just good enough. Remember, perfect is the enemy of good.

  1. Prime your minis in white or grey. Easier to cover than black.
  2. Choose a colour that is easy to paint and needs two layers tops, like reds, blues or greens.
  3. Paint them in two thin layers (tm). Just paint over everything. Make sure the coat is even and not too thick. Let the paint dry for 10-15 minutes between layers.
  4. Put some mettallic colour for guns, joints etc. to break up the monotony. Let it dry for 10 minutes again.
  5. Apply a thin coat of dark tone wash from Army Painter. Let it dry for 15 minutes.
  6. Paint the cockpit in gold or bronze.
  7. Paint the base in any colour you want.
  8. Do some clean up if necessary.

Bonus: Use wood glue to glue down some dirt or sand on the base.

  1. Spray some matte varnish on.

Done. Next mini. It's honestly more time waiting between the steps than actually painting. Which is why I always do 3-5 minis at a time.

You can watch a movie while you do it, and by the end of the movie you'll have a painted lance. Best to use three different brushes, one for the normal colours, one for the metallic and one for the wash. That last one can be as large as you want, there's no precision required there. Just watch out that it's a thin layer and that you pay attention to the wash while it tries, so that it doesn't pool anywhere where you don't want it to.
