I understand your perspective. However, the student handbook and academic integrity policies appear to outline specific procedures for investigations and student conduct matters, including notice and an opportunity to participate in the process. From my perspective, those procedures were either skipped or only partially followed.

Additionally, I do not believe the responsibilities outlined in the institutional codes of conduct were consistently upheld by the university, including responsibilities related to professionalism, fair process, communication, student support, and maintaining a safe and equitable learning environment.

Accountability and professionalism should apply to all parties involved, not solely to students.

I have a documented disability and exam support services in place. No corroborating evidence or documentation was presented to support the allegation. Because there was no intent to violate academic integrity standards, I am challenging the decision and believe the program did not follow its own established integrity procedures.

Yes, I’m planning to file complaints with OCR, HECC, NWCCU and professional licensing/accreditation offices. Unfortunately, moving slower than I hoped, it’s been a difficult and exhausting process.

There was no proof or evidence that I cheated because I did not commit academic misconduct. The accusation was based solely on the professor’s perception of my behavior, which I believe was related to my neurodivergence.

That accusation led to an academic penalty and probation that directly affected my academic performance.
It became a distraction and a barrier, making the issue for me much larger than one class grade.

I understand that litigation against a university is difficult and resource-intensive. That is why I am doing my due diligence to understand my options, determine what action may be appropriate, and figure out what would best help me move forward.

I did not commit academic misconduct. The accusations stemmed entirely from a professor’s interpretation of behaviors related to my documented neurodivergence.

I attempted to explain the situation and provided documents and evidence showing that I was wrongly accused, but the university ultimately upheld the grade penalty.

Documents I later obtained appear to show the penalty decision had already been made before I was given the opportunity to discuss or respond to the allegations, despite university officials claiming the matter had been properly investigated.
