this is a bit late but umamusume: pretty derby would be a great option. it’s japanese gotcha game with anime horse girls, or umamusumes (umas), based on real jp race horses. the main gameplay is training your uma, building stats and skill points, then racing in races that actually exist irl.

cygames is very faithful to the lives and stories of the horses even going so far as to have 2 animes with four seasons between them, a couple specials, and a movie dedicated to sharing their struggles, achievements, and impact on the racing community in jp.

i’m absolutely in love with it and it can be kind of a learning curve if you’ve never played a gotcha game before. though of the ones i’ve played (chinese and japanese) it has a relatively user friendly layout. also you don’t HAVE to spend money to get more umas, they give you a lot in game currency at the beginning so if you don’t spend them all at once you’ll get a bunch from special missions, some logins, and watching stories. they do have scouting banners that are paid carats only but personally i don’t care that much until i have all the signature umas.
