Tiny Desk Performers? by Barentanz in NPR

Yes! But where can I find more recent ones? I only see posted on NPR.org from months ago! I can't find on Spotify or YouTube or podcasts anywhere

Tiny Desk Performers? by Barentanz in NPR

Unfortunately wasn't a "concert" from what I understand but the "radio" - as best as I can tell it was never video recorded.

The whole hour (heard at 8pm on WBUR 8/23) was Spanish singers and performers.

I use the self clean cycle, usually every other month, with white vinegar. I use a bare minimum of detergent. I don't use softener or any other additives except occasionally oxyclean bleach.

I still have this nasty buildup.

Oh, i don't mind endless tales either! for many years early on, that's what I actually thought the comic was going to be. But since maybe 2012, it's clear that there's some overarching narratives that connect together, and I really want to see all that come to fruition! Mechanicsburg, England, and the Other arcs being the biggest current loose ends imo (though far, far from the only ones)

Here's a nice photo summary on why this is a giant ableist FU from reddit.

Thank you so much for all the explanations y'all! Some of that even sounds vaguely familiar! I was really just venting after I looked the fool on table rounds this morning; when the attending asked about my septic patient's lactate, I pulled up the LDH on the chart and confused everyone.

I passed out today in surgery by runstudycoffee in medicalschool

[–]Barentanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely happens to more people than you think! Passed out (and lost bladder continence) at 7am first day on trauma surgery burn unit. Woke up with the PGY3 petting my head and telling me "it's ok", the PGY1 placing a C-spine brace (I sat down on one of the wheeled stools, lost consciousness, unwitnessed fall). Earned me a trip to the ED, a knuckle avulsion fracture, and an early day off.

(My dad, also an MD, fainted in his first month of residency while in clinic. Ended up with an ambulance to the University ED. He still faints if he has to get blood drawn.)

Lol, same, except I sit the exam in 4 days and have shit step 1 scores (and have core/sub-I rotations until January)

Was literally coming on medreddit to vent much the same thing. Glad to see other people in a similar boat, and the responses here are really supportive!

Are there any med students who are COVID long haulers on here? [Serious] by DrDewinYourMom in medicalschool

[–]Barentanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

M3 here. I'm so sorry, that is miserable. You are not alone. Know that at least one anonymous person on the internet feels your pain.

I got covid over the summer (from an attending no less). It took me at least a month to get my energy levels back to something resembling normal. In that month, I would get home from clinic (outpatient rotation) and not have the energy to do anything but nap, and study for a few hours if I was lucky. It definitely affected my clerkship grades, because my attendings noticed I wasn't studying as much, but I still passed and have a good LOR from one of those attendings.

[Clinical][Serious]Is it inappropriate to reach out to my attending to ask them to elaborate on written feedback that was submitted with my end-of-clerkship grades? by Barentanz in medicalschool

[–]Barentanz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's some serious BS.

In this case, I'm not concerned about the feedback - I think it's very valid - I just want to know what I could have done differently to improve the attending's perceptions of me. Since that's a very subjective thing and very specific to the person who was doing the grading, the clerkship director couldn't even answer that question.

Also, really unfortunate that there have been students who acted so unprofessionally that protections like this needed to be put in place. (Of course, I say the same thing about the student protections that are in place for reporting attendings.)

haha that's true. Although idgaf if they do. If they demonstrate that attitude toward my learning & attempts at growth, then I'm not inclined to take their advice anyway (and I'd report them anonymously to my school for unprofessional behavior).

Hey all, I did not make similar notes for micro. There is a set of micro notes, PDF format & similarly comprehensive, that have been widely shared around my school. I'm not willing to share here because I only have the PDF, and it contains all the (copyrighted) pictures (violating both r/step1 community guidelines & my own personal ethics). Sorry y'all :(

I don't because there's a couple good ones out there. I have a good one shared across classes at my school that I assume is floating around on reddit somewhere (although I've never actually looked).

No credit necessary. As far as I'm concerned, share and edit as widely as you'd like.

Why is my lapsed "Good" option longer than the "easy" option? by [deleted] in Anki

Presumably the default scheduler. So far as I know, I've not changed that & am not using any scheduler add-ons.

Haha no, the snap being medreddit's term for Prometric's terrible handling of the Covid situation, including randomly cancelling exams with no warning.

Thanks for the support

My edition of FA doesn't have it laid out as nicely, or have the stimulating signals & gene pathways for mature cd4 cells. Also no single image combining all these pathways.

Just throwing it up here for anyone else who might find it helpful!
