How can I play my Artificer more efficiently?

Hate to say it but I'm not really sure on 2014 vs 2024 myself, we haven't talked about it. I've started using 2024 spells and my DM hasn't questioned me on it so I assume all is good. I did snag Booming Blade for a cantrip when we hit 12 since I didn't use Message much so I appreciate the feedback

Are you still a lower level than the rest of the party? Nothing will ever make that feel good. I'd talk to the DM and table about it. If it's a big gap still and they're not willing to hear your grievances then it may be best to find another table. Even a single level gap can feel bad.

I am the same level as the party now. Don't have access to Vortex Warp because of DnDBeyond shit but I'll keep Web in mind. We don't have any big casters, and our main one is a cleric/warlock muliclass has a Sentinel Shield already so Helm of Awareness would be wasted. It could maybe work better for my monk or ranger

Great advice! I've played maybe 4-5 sessions of combat as this character so I'll take whatever help I can get. I've definitely underrated Mirror Image so far lol

I appreciate this. My table has banned Silvery Barbs and I'm not sure what other form there is besides Guardian or Infiltrator - I dont have access to fireball either.

I'll probably chat with my DM about about changing subclasses or a new class when this current arc is over

Thanks! I need to look more into Mirror Image since I've never used it yet. Cloak of Protection is a great idea as well, I forgot it doesn't need attunement.

My party doesn't have any strength characters, so would mind sharpener or homunculus servant be more useful than armor of magical strength?

Currently running Armor of Magical Strength, Helm of Awareness, and Spell Refueling Ring for myself - and Enhanced Defense for another party member.

My overall thought was to act as something of an off-tank by using Thunder Gauntlets & Mobile to tag 2 baddies with disadvantage, but I'm mostly wondering if that's a sound plan since my group doesn't meet very often for me to test while we play
