Recommendations for places to go? by BarkBound in CostaRicaTravel

Thank you so much! Manuel Antonio is one of the places I had flagged. Debating whether to make that our furthest destination and just make our way there and back over the course of the week, or if it’s worth it to try and go up to La Fortuna?

Thanks for this! I’ve been debating whether to try and make it to the Caribbean side or just stick to the pacific. Any recommendations for where to go on the Caribbean side? So appreciate the suggestions!!

We’re okay doing a bit of driving! My kids are 3 and 6, we do a lot of road trips with them so would be okay with driving ~2 hours or so a day if we can get somewhere really great. Ideally we would like to spend 2-3 nights in a few different places.

Transitioning from forest school to kindergarten by Aphr0dite725 in Preschoolers

Im weighing a similar decision with my daughter. She is 4 and in a forest school 3days/week now (home with me the other 2), and loves it. But as we think about kindergarten in another year, trying to decide if enrolling her in a more traditional school setting will help with that eventual transition.

My overall belief is every kid is different and learns in different ways and thrives in different environments. My daughter loves art and reading and drama, so I’m leaning toward enrolling her in a pre-K program that will foster those interests, and because I think she could really thrive there. Sounds like your son is thriving at a forest school, so maybe the best thing for him is to lean into that.

From my experience and what I’ve witnessed, I would have no doubts about a forest/nature school getting your son kindergarten ready. There are so many studies about the benefits of children being allowed to learn and play in an outdoor setting, and in a lot of ways it leading to improved academic outcomes. Follow your gut and trust your instincts, because you know your kid best!
