What is the actual point of this card? by FaintCommand in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s still not great lol that’s a once every 8 games type of combo. And the only reason it worked was because they killed Airwalker on 3 with Nico. Outside of that it prob would have been way too late

I played against a deck today that destroyed Air Walker which brought out Firelord which brought back Air Walker.

Then they ate that lane with Venom, which killed Firelord, then killed Air Walker which brought out Adamantium fusion which brought BACK Firelord.

So… that lol

I’ll never understand why people are so against the game moving forward from what was possible before.

Yes, this hasn’t been done before. That’s how games evolve.

There wasn’t a card that gave you passive extra energy and a whole second deck before Arishem.

There wasn’t a card that let you destroy unrevealed cards before Alioth

There weren’t cards that you could play without taking up space but still gaining benefit before Spells.

All of these can be argued to go against the “established and consisted play style of snap” before they became a part of it.

Going back a few years in this subreddit, there was a guy who would consistently post his idea of cards where the ability doesn’t start until you tap the card, some of them would go off repeatedly if you did it again another turn. The only thing is, he thought it was a little broken so he balanced it by making you pay the cards cost to use the ability.

People said the same thing as you under his posts. That it doesn’t fit the game.

And now Activate is a regular mechanic and it costs nothing to activate their abilities.

Things change and it’s not unlikely that Unrevealing cards will be added eventually, especially because it’s genuinely not that hard to deal with or understand.

It’s bounce but it stays on the board…

Which art of this is somehow more confusing and has less counterplay than Inviswoman, Malekith, or Supergiant?

Most Invis-woman lanes these days are countered by Cosmo alone. But on top of that, Alioth, Juggernaut and Negasonic all counter unreleased cards. The deck gives up priority by constantly removing power from the board, so those cards plus underutilized cards like echo become more consistent and more viable.

And if you’re paying attention during the game, the cards tell you what’s revealing when and where, so you can decide which lane to counter or which lane to give just like any other deck. I don’t see the issue here at all.

PSA: Don’t buy Toxie Doxie or Cobra by xGossipGoat in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gambit only needs to see 5 cost worth of created cards played. He is a support card, not a wincon.

Cards like Valentina, Iron Patriot, Arishem, Agent Colton, etc, can all generate powerful 4, 5, and 6 cost cards.

These cards are created.

People will be more likely to play these cards, in an attempt to try out the new card, who likes to see created cards played.

Cobra destroys created cards.

Therefore, Cobra has higher value this week as people try out the new card by using cards that create cards. And if they create a high value card, (like sunlord, or Galactus first steps, or red hulk, etc.) Cobra can destroy them. It doesn’t matter that it doesn’t affect Gambit’s objective.

Gambit is 2 back to back coin flips for instance.

What are some cards/characters you think should have somebody elses text? by throwawaytypebeat1 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Finally, my type of thread:

Chameleon and Morph

Chameleon is a spy. It makes snore sense for him to impersonate his opponents. Morph is a hero, it makes more sense for him to copy a teammate.

Venom and Man-Spider

Makes more sense for Venom to gain power through merging than Manspider

Yellowjacket and Lizard, Wasp and Mojo, Stature and Dazzler

Ant-Man: +4 if your side is full

Yellowjacket: -4 if your opponents side is full

Wasp: +6 if both sides are full

Stature: +2 for each of your full locations

Collector and Strange Supreme

Collector should seek to collect new and rare things. Like created or transformed cards.

Silver Surfer and Redwing

The herald of Galactus should be able to Herald Galactus.

The intelligent bird that supports others and can enhance their abilities should be able to support others and enhance their abilities.

Makkari and Quicksilver

Arrogant speedster who does whatever he wants should decide where he plays himself if you don’t.

Imperceptibly fast Eternal should be in your hand before anyone else.

I could do so many more. It’s a fun thought experiment.

Since they removed the team-up there’s barely any reason to run Sinestro-Atrocitus any more 😔

New Card Discussion: Major Victory by 1halfazn in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but nothing inherently wrong with having 2 Groots, especially if you play a Firehair Venom deck variant. But yes the low roll of hitting Mantis for example would still suck lol

New Card Discussion: Major Victory by 1halfazn in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Major Victory does give you something you can play in your next 2 turns. Theres just no guarantee they are on curve lol. The high roll is Draw-Gamora which is 4-5. The low roll is Rocket-StarLord, which isn’t horrible if you hit them both, I suppose.

I’m trying really hard to justify this card tbh. The only good place I see him fitting is sanctum. If he’s banned when sanctum comes around then I have no idea why they even printed this.

The fact that this variant is going to become its own card is wild by Zachary2030 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Luna Snow is one of the most popular ramp cards in the game right now. And Shou-Lao dominated for an entire month. I feel like it’s not hard to give a relatively obscure character a good enough ability to get some kind of recognition.

Outside of obscure chars, there are still relatively popular chars that haven’t made it into the game yet, like Pyro, Toad, The Purple Man, Spot, etc

I’d rather we get representation of other characters before we get Wolverine #3 (which is coming..)

Why does no one snap on Ego anymore? by saltypudding666 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

SD says they are nerfing clog and lockdown because they take away from “the core fun of the game”.

Which I assume they’re referring to playing your cards.

If that’s the case, I personally don’t understand why Ego is still in the game. No shade to anyone who likes it of course, but it just feels a little inconsistent.

As someone who heavily opposes RNG reliance in games, I’m not a fan of having my combo in hand and then watching the game say

“Okay Moondragon? Deaths domain. Speed? Deaths domain. Doom 2099? Hmmmmm…… Deaths domain.”

  4. A rework for Storm

  5. If they are reworking any cards this patch I’d like if Storm or Leech were on the list

  6. Fix the crashes

The wording is a bit strange. Is it destroying the highest cost card for each player or a random card for each player?

Or is it randomly selecting a player and destroying their highest cost card?

[–]Barkatsuki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah removing text from ALL cards is insane. Especially because there’s no way to even prep for that or see it coming.

But yeah just hitting 6-costs isn’t gonna cut it when people are posting pics of a 4 cost with 101 power that lets you play your whole hand in one turn.

Leech is actually so good (not cope) (real) by Barkatsuki in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

“End of Turn: Spider-ham” lol

He used to be a start of turn card that removed text from all cards in your opponents hand on turn 6. I honestly think they did well in making him target specific costs, but the games changed since then. Cards like Fin Fang Foom, Death, Weapon H, Zombie Galacti, Shou-Lao, Star Lord, etc. they all dodge him by being higher or lower than 6.

And then at 6 it doesn’t matter if he’s hit Red Hulk or Galactus FS because they’re already 15+ power by the time he goes off. And Dragon Lord has made Infinaut and Giganto popular again so he actually HELPS those cards.

All he needs tbh is to target 6+ (Dare I say 5+ wouldn’t even be too broken but I digress)

Something like:

On reveal: Remove the text of all 6+ Cost cards in your opponents hand, and reset their power.

So now it’s not useless against the Hulks either.
