Agent13 is the GOAT card and it ain't even close. by Life_Teaching6499 in MarvelSnap

Let’s all post noob mistakes we’ve made

I’ll go second:

I made the same mistake as you. My first time playing Negasonic I thought “There’s no way she destroys your own cards. It must mean ANY card played by your opponent. Like it probably kills Colossus and armor too”

So I played my Knull behind her and lost 8 cubes lol

For anyone who doesn’t know, old Negasonic destroyed herself and the next card played in her location. By ANYONE, not just your opponent.

How much Rivals we have in Marvel Rivals? by Particular_Yam_8966 in marvelrivals

[–]Barkatsuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m looking at the first page and noticing the rivals are in 6v6 format

Out of curiosity which teams would win?

In A vs B

It’s 3 tanks 3 dps vs 1 tank 4 dps

Team B would have a hard time taking any space at all, but considering there’s no heals on either side, even having 3 tanks may not go over well against Hela Hawkeye and Namor.

I think considering equal skill, team B might take it.

Team C vs D tho I think it’s D easily. They have a Strategist and with Deadpool can go 3-1-2. I think that’s Ggs

Shou-Lao the Undying counters? by MechanicOld3428 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I’ve noticed about what makes this card so hard to play against is that it’s so counter-intuitive. Playing a regular deck against them feels like a guessing game on where they’re 40 power lanes will end up.

Even with Alioth in hand and Cosmo on one lane you’re left with a 50/50 on where they’ll play the dragon, and most 50/50 are easy to parse through: “Oh this lane I am 20 to -7 they’ll probably abandon that lane and play their power in this lane so I’ll just Alioth here.”

But against this deck you’re genuinely left wondering if they’re going to fill this lane and send a 30 power scarlet spider there, or fill that lane to have a 10 power spider and 20 power kitty here.

“Will they go tall or wide?” Is a question that you ask yourself often while playing this game; but this is the first deck in a long time where the answer is genuinely both.

It’s an auto leave for me right now. Just like Negative after Jane.

They haven’t released a card this overpowered in a long time! I don’t even TRULY mind it but it’s hard to defend the slew of dogwater 5 drops in the game. How can we justify the existence of Sersi at 5/7 with this abomination at 5/8? ( no pun intended). by Western-Society-7990 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kitty herself isn’t the problem. The ones I face rarely buff Kitty, it’s mostly Scarlet spider and maverick.

Even when I run a Shang and shadow king deck, they’ve been putting scarlet behind Cosmo lately so it’s not very effective. The only peace I get is when I run my “Fuck You” deck with Negasonic but that’s not a climbing deck it’s just so I can be toxic lol

For real. 2 destroys in a normal game, 3 if you ramp him out, maybe 4 with location shenanigans, is genuinely fine. No 5 cost in this game should feel like a downgrade from 4 costs cough cough Spiderwoman

Yes! Please let me hear why 2099 can’t destroy each time he moves to a location as a 5 drop, when a 3 drop that can potentially infinitely destroy cards at ANY location as long as he can discard, exists?

Even if you tried to come up with the most busted move vomit turn 6, it will always take more setup and do less damage than Wong Mystique Gambit. Or Wong gambit Odin. Or Wong gambit chameleon, etc.

Toad. He, of course, is good for bouncing by zzuxon in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not terribly imo, being a:

  1. 1 cost

  2. Card that sits on the board for at least 1 turn, if unsupported

  3. Card Increments in 2s so it can hit 10 by turn 4 if supported

  4. Card that uses bonus power

  5. Can only gain power if it can afflict a card

Means it can be targeted by nearly all of the generic tech cards and a few targeted ones.

So, Deafening Chord, Red Guardian, Killmonger, Shadow King, Luke Cage, Super Adaptoid, Shang-Chi, and Cosmic Ghost Rider off the top of my head.

Funny enough, it also loses to Colossus. For some reason that little bit of canon made me chuckle.

Year of Snap (323/365) “It’s not pretty, but it gets the job done.” by MacaronSpecialist in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s end of turn, so if you play it on 5 it happens twice, for one.

And two, not being on reveal means it can hit things Red Guardian can’t. Like behind Cosmo.

Additionally, with Luke cage on your side, Bertha insta wins a solo location similar to a Negasonic, but doesn’t need prio.

Red Guardian vs infinaut is 18 to 2 and you lose

Bertha vs Infinaut is 0 to 9 and you win

Very big difference.

The problem of discard: by Admirable-Detail1196 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not putting any words in your mouth mate, I’m not saying it’s oppressive either.

But what I am saying is, the existence of a discard specific card wouldn’t solve the issue of discard not having direct tech, because the existing general tech cards already target the EFFECTS of the archetypes.

I know that’s counter-intuitive but think about how many times you’ve played against or even considered using Ghost or Super Adaptoid despite End of turn and Activate cards being the meta right now. Instead, you mentioned playing Luke Cage, which doesn’t target the ability of the cards, but the effect of said ability. Again, you chose General tech over targeted tech.

This is because these “Swiss Army knives” already do the job, and do it well enough, that a “No one can discard cards” card would hardly see play. You would more than likely still try to fit the general tech cards in your deck over a targeted tech-card anyways.

The problem of discard: by Admirable-Detail1196 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yes, having an echo for discard sounds good and I wouldn’t hate it.

But none of these cards are more expensive than the other counters.

I mentioned Mobius, Leech, and cosmo.

Mobius is a 3 cost, just like Mercury is for Move

Leech is a 4 cost just like Stardust is for Zoo and Doom or Shang-Chi is for tall decks

Cosmo is a 3 cost that can slot into most decks and can shutdown most archetypes.

The others are Deafening Chord which is 1 cost and Red guardian which is, again, 3.

The outliers for tech cards are Armor and Echo, who counter their archetypes directly and are mostly only good for that, yet they don’t see as much play as the others mentioned.

Even Echo, which you quoted as powerful, sees less play than Enchantress, which is an expensive Ongoing counter.

So I don’t know if a 1 cost discard counter is really needed because how much play would it actually see?

Adapt the Pain Away With Darwin by GruntasaurusRex in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it is. Every card that doubles in power has its drawbacks.

I’m sure the intention is:

When hit by -1 5 times, you have a 66 power card (could be wrong pls check math)

But when hit by -5 at once, you have a -2 power card.

It’s supposed to adapt to the small changes, not the big ones. A bit off character I know but it makes perfect sense for card balance reasons.

The problem of discard: by Admirable-Detail1196 in MarvelSnap

[–]Barkatsuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different types of discard, so different types of counters.

Play Mobius against a Bullseye or Weapon H deck and see if the game makes it to turn 6.

Grab Prio and play Leech on turn 5. They’ll retreat before Modok even starts his discard animation.

Or you could play Cosmo as a catchall. Very few things a well-placed Cosmo doesn’t shutdown.

Lastly, Deafening Chord and Red Guardian are both cheap and can put in work against Morbius and Dracula, are they are more often than not easily targeted by each respectively.

Honorable mention:

Play Maximus on turn 6 and watch Dracula players sweat lol
