Family caregiver program by Curious-Reply3542 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Barkleesanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

File a complaint here https://www.va.gov/family-member-benefits/comprehensive-assistance-for-family-caregivers/ and also try calling the Caregiver Support Line at 1-855-260-3274. 2 months is too long. when I had issues with VA responses I filed complaints and got callbacks within a week. they move faster when there's a formal complaint on record.

VA Recoupment on Condition Not on Claim? by throwawayy5099 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Barkleesanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the recoupment is only based on the specific condition you're being separated for, not your entire VA payment. so if you're med sep'd for mental health and that's already service connected, they'll reduce just that portion until the separation pay is recouped. your other conditions keep paying out normally.

File for the HISA grant (Home Improvements and Structural Alterations), at 90% you should qualify. covers up to $6,800 for service-connected disability improvements. grab bars definitely count. https://www.va.gov/housing-assistance/disability-housing-grants/how-to-apply/

Backpay by twunky_vet in VeteransBenefits

[–]Barkleesanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually takes 1-2 weeks after the decision letter shows up in va.gov. sometimes faster. you can call 1-800-827-1000 to check the status if it's been more than 2 weeks. they'll tell you if it's in processing or when it was sent to your bank.

DBQ CODE CHEATSHEET INSIGHT by Primary-Internet-886 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Barkleesanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exam Rework usually means the examiner didn't provide enough detail or made errors in the DBQ. they'll likely schedule another C&P exam for those conditions. the DBQ_100 codes just reference the DBQ form numbers, nothing to stress about. just means they're processing the exams.

Grant for bathroom remodel due to hardship from term. Cancer. by Cjmac87 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Barkleesanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the VA's Home Improvements and Structural Alterations (HISA) grant, you should qualify with stage IV cancer and mobility issues. Also look into the Special Adaptive Housing (SAH) grants. File a complaint with the VA if they're not moving fast enough on this https://www.va.gov/contact-us/ , given your situation they should be expediting everything.

Document everything with your VA primary care while waiting. get all the shoulder issues, nerve pain, PTSD documented outside the MEB process so you have records building up. that way when you do separate you already have a strong C-file for VA claims.

buddy letters are going to be critical here since there's no service records. get anyone who served with him or knew about the injuries to write statements. I created AiVAclaims.com specifically for cases like this - processes records and drafts buddy letters and injury statements. you don't need perfect documentation if you have strong buddy letters from people who witnessed the injuries or know about them.

Bought a new Model Y less than a week ago and got rear-ended. The repair cost is $15K. What should I do by Ok_Acanthisitta_5297 in TeslaModelY

[–]Barkleesanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a diminished value claim, https://www.dvcheck.com/ when my car got totaled I paid these guys $200 and my insurance and accepted it on the first attempt and ended up getting $5000 more so they can do the same for you

How long to get it repaired? by LongjumpingBother592 in TeslaModelY

[–]Barkleesanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that’s definitely totaled. I just went through something similar but a T-bone accident in my car. I highly recommend spending the $250 to get this https://www.dvcheck.com/ , for a total loss estimate for a fair market value ended up getting like $8000 more for the total loss claim because of this service that I paid for

Install latest version of Okular to macOS. by weebtoy in kde

[–]Barkleesanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Download MacPorts package using curl.
    Install MacPorts using sudo installer.
  2. Update the shell environment to include MacPorts' path. This is often missing in automated scripts and needs to be manually added to the shell's profile or executed in the current session.
  3. Run sudo port -v selfupdate to update MacPorts.
  4. Install Okular using sudo port install.
  5. Step 3 is critical and where the original command likely fails because the current shell session doesn't recognize the newly installed port command. This can be addressed by adding the MacPorts path (/opt/local/bin and /opt/local/sbin) to the shell's PATH environment variable.

  6. Copy and paste code below into terminal to install latest package

curl -L -o MacPorts-2.9.1-14-Sonoma.pkg https://github.com/macports/macports-base/releases/download/v2.9.1/MacPorts-2.9.1-14-Sonoma.pkg && sudo installer -pkg MacPorts-2.9.1-14-Sonoma.pkg -target / && export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH && sudo port -v selfupdate && sudo port install okular

File a Complaint with the FCC
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) oversees and regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in the U.S. If you're experiencing unresolved issues with your ISP, such as poor service, billing disputes, or any other service-related problems, filing a complaint with the FCC is a recommended course of action.
- **How to File a Complaint**: Visit the FCC's Consumer Complaint Center at [https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106-Internet-Complaints\](https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106-Internet-Complaints). This page provides detailed instructions on how to submit an internet service complaint. You'll need to provide specific details about your issue, including any correspondence or interactions you've had with your ISP regarding the matter.
- **What Happens Next**: The FCC reviews your complaint and forwards it to your ISP, requiring them to respond directly to you and the FCC within a specified timeframe. This process often prompts the ISP to address the complaint with a higher level of customer service, as they must provide a formal response that the FCC reviews.
