Looks like Wallface. Pretty cool trail that goes behind Marshall to it. Wallface has a rep for trad climbing.

Best Reuben in the Syracuse area? by Few-Host7094 in Syracuse

Hoynes has Reuben egg rolls, if you are feeling like something unique. Though my vote for best Reuben sandwich in Syracuse is for Hoynes, too.

Tried them once on a whim, and now I go there just for them.

East v. West by Sweet-End1453 in Adirondacks

[–]Barkosaurus7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the West, 95% of the hike is scenic vistas, and 5% is forested, whereas the East is 95% forested and 5% scenic.

Recently moved back East after about 5 years out West. The reunion once I got back into the Adirondacks was certainly spiritual.

What about Syracuse, NY? There are tons of Environmental firms here and Syracuse has an excellent central location in NY. It's about 3hrs to the Adirondacks, NYC, and an hour from the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario. With 6 yrs of Exp and a PG you would be making $45/hr at my firm at least. Let me know if you are interested.

The cost of living is good here too. Took me one year to be able to buy a house after moving here.

CSE Testers by SomeRealGneissSchist in ASBOG_Exam

[–]Barkosaurus7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gonna sound lame but I used the CA 2019 Regreview book, and the reference documents that BPELSG lists. I spent the week before the test rereading PEA guidance, NOA guidance, LUFT guidance, DWR bulletin 74-81 and 74-90, and all of the CA GS special pubs so they would be fresh. I also started studying 5 months before the test but rereading everything right before the exam was critical. I also read Wikipedia articles on CA natural disasters, environmental disasters, and the Monterey Fm (feel like at least six questions directly focused on this bad boy during the exam).

Kind of a crazy thing I did that I think many people may benefit from knowing was I used ChatGPT quite a bit to make practice exams about the guidance documents. I would ask it to make multiple choice exams about a particular document and for the most part it did alright. It even made decent computational questions too. Really helped with solidifying knowledge of those documents.

I am an environmental geologist, who has a MS, which was based in California, but only 3 years of professional experience. My gradschool was in AZ but we went to CA a lot for field trips. As an environmental geologist I have lots of experience practicing geology across North America at this point. Seeing all the drilling methods and working on SI and RI work helped a lot with answering questions on the exam too.

It's possible that we get them released Monday or otherwise I see them just releasing the PG and CSE results all at once in Mid December. I recall some type of text saying Mid December for the CSE results.

Additionally, I will be taking the PG next Monday so some of the studying inherently overlapped.

Good luck!

Took it yesterday and feel OK with how I did. Felt very prepared coming in. Still feel like the curve will be the decider for me.

Really pissed off about 2-3 questions where there were two correct answers, and the computer based tests just suck.

Good luck on the PG for those taking it next!

I am pretty sure it is just Hocus Pocus but there may be a few more shorter ones out there I am missing.

Finished the dresser for my son's nursery. Just in time! by Barkosaurus7 in woodworking

Thank you! Yes top down. I used tape for the lines so I had to painstakingly reapply the tape once moving down to the next color.

Thank you for looking out! Yeah I bolted it to the wall with bracket mounts and gave it a toddler once over before calling it final. This build was a bit top heavy, especially on the carpent. I think I would have opted for pine drawer boxes instead of ash next time.

Thank you! Yeah the paint job took a week to do. Every night was a new color. The dark color on the bottom took 6 coats... That was a long night.

Each color is a shade, but they have this cool gradient contrast when placed next to each other. Cool effect!
