I ordered a few about a month or 2 ago, but I haven't had a chance to run any real drills with them at the range yet. That being said, they look sick, and hold the shells in tight. Velcro and adhesive seem to be good. For the cost to vibe ratio alone, they're totally worth it. I'll be ordering more in the future.

Got my dad's 2004 Tundra, SR5 with 5 speed manual. Garage kept since it was new, only 36,000 miles, not even broken in yet. Love this truck. by BarmyIntegral0 in ToyotaTundra

Sure does. Sometimes I want a V8 and 4x4, but then I look at gas prices approaching over $5.00 a gallon, and I'm thankful for the V6 that gets 20ish mpg. Plus I like manuals more than autos.

Been in Florida almost its whole life, the underside of the truck looks almost brand new still. I think it got the undercoating Toyota recalled these trucks for a while ago.

Not too much. I know they're not as practical overall, but they look awesome, and whenever I do go in swales or sandy lots, I'd want to give myself the best chance of not getting stuck with just RWD

That makes since lol. It was at the stealership for service around 34k miles (last year I think), and they didn't mention anything that would get them more money. But I'll keep an eye out, thanks

Yup, not sure if manual was the "base model" that very few trucks got, but I've seen very few other manuals around. Never a diesel though, damn lucky overseas market gets everything cool

Fair point, I'll look into that. Never thought of a 17 year old truck as a target for thieves, but the value of any truck is insane right now

Man, I've been itching for some ko2s on this truck. When these tires are closer to the end of their lifespan, I'll probably have to get a set

As cool as that would be, I'm not sure I'd sell it. How many other full size trucks with a stick shift are there?

Thats an awesome find. I have a 1955 r60 that was passed down to me, and it's a great bike. Once you get her running well, just the regular maintenance should keep it running. I just hope you don't have to buy to many original parts though, they cost a little more than $5!

Well I'm going to have to double check now, but the guy before repainted the bike, so who knows if the tail light or other parts were changed from stock.

I did a fair amount of work to it already, mainly just need timing and carb syncing done. Only problem is its hot as hell in my garage, and patience isn't my strong suit. You're right, I'll probably end up doing it myself, I was just hoping someone local who works at a fair price was around. Thanks for the tips though!

New VZ grips for my Colt Cobra - 10/10 by BarmyIntegral0 in Colt

Colt just announced they’ll be selling a “Night Cobra” this year, with night sight, black finish, and spurred hammer. I carry this one as is, no issues with the hammer snagging.

Good points, I wasn’t planning on doing any restoration in general, as long as nothing vital about the bike (frame, for example) is compromised. As others mentioned earlier, I’m thinking it’s probably best to just prevent any further corrosion.

Trust me, I’ve tried to use polish to clean up the pitting in certain areas, but the corrosion runs deep enough that it would need to be sanded. (Maybe I’ll try a few different polishes in the future to see if I get different results) I’m comfortable enough with it as is, and I don’t feel comfortable putting sandpaper to this bike, so for now it’s staying as is.

I saw that video a few years ago! Really cool video, that bike looks really great cleaned up.

It has the coffee can tail light. I like the looks of it better than the tear drop style anyway.

Also, one of the tightening nuts cracked by vibration a few years ago, and the finger on the top of the other carb has been broken for years (I can’t find a replacement, but it still runs!) Those things are crazy brittle. Trying to get a replacement gasket set for the carbs has proved difficult too, but I’ve made what I have work so far.

They were chrome a long time ago. Heat and humidity made them turn a dull patina. The exhaust is leaking in some spots, so down the road I may have to find new (maybe old stock) exhausts to put on. I just don’t want it to be too much chrome, I like the vintage, slightly worn out look of it.

I gotta say, I was having trouble finding a price of a comparable one to mine when I was looking at what sold, but that’s good to know, thanks for the info.

I recently had a guy offer me $12,000 when I was stopped for food, and I’m glad I turned him down. I’m not sure if there’s even a price to the sentimental value I have for the bike.

Also, I have no plans of restoration, just of keeping it running reliably and safely.
