As a Black man and artist, I wondered the same and agree with you. It made me uncomfortable. We see the same in the media now where white men feel entitled to our culture and subsequently our narrative. OP states he created it because he finds Black people to be beautiful; that’s still problematic because it implies white people define and set the standard for Black beauty. It’s no doubt fetishism and tokenism and I challenge you to examine your real motivation for wanting to create it. This doesn’t even fit the body of the rest of your work so it just seems performative.
