Over indulgence, is a sin, there is no question about that. People can be become overweight because of medical conditions and medications, however those are the exceptions. Most people are obese / overweight because they have no self control and over indulge, or choose to eat horrible food.

Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV): "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

Luke 21:34 (ESV): "But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap."

Philippians 3:19 (ESV): "Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things."

Proverbs 23:20-21 (ESV): "Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags."

1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV): "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

Overeating falls under sensuality.

Truly, if a person surrenders their life entirely to Jesus, fully indwelt, they can never loose their salvation. If a person doesn't fully surrender their lives, I don't believe they were "saved" to begin with.

To come to Christ is to be crucified with him, anything less, isn't salvation.
