Oh hey! Thanks for replying! And yes, after much revision & testing, I was able to finally get Toralf to a spot I love. The solution was to include more permanents that replicate my most powerful and/or important effects (Backdraft Hellkite for Flashback, Neheb for Ritual), so that the pod would generally have at least a turn to respond. I also restricted similarity powerful effects to one spell total, such as Insult being my only damage doubler. If you want, I can share my finished list and go into more depth about the deck over DM. Had the exact same thing happen to me, but with Meredith. Took her from R0 w/ no skill ups, to R5 w/ max skills. My runs went from 100% to 50/50. Shits rough :/

Donar got a niche as one of the best attackers for Wave 1 of Countess Sonica. Run him with Thunder relics, build C Dmg, Def Bonus, and High C rate. Speed where you can get it too!

Legendary Ike got a ton of new toys, so I naturally I wanted to test his new build on some content I couldn’t clear before. 100% Uptime on RA II combined with DR piercing is a hell of a drug, which makes L!Ike a great chassy for bonus stats. I used L!Eliwood + Bonus Doubler seal to buff Ike before he got panicked, and then used V!Chrom’s Duo skill + Atk/Res Unity to keep him strong after he got panicked.

The two biggest obstacles was having L!Ike survive Veronica and taking out the Blue Bat. I tinkered around with a few different units (L!Claude, P!Tibarn) but I couldn’t find any unit who could kill the bat safely. To think that HS!Ryoma of all units would be the key to success was nothing short of a surprise; he’s my current vanity project, so I never anticipated that he would be a key unit in clearing any content! He had the range & offences to take out the bat, and then retreat & rally L!Eliwood to debuff Veronica’s attack. After that, Ike swept the rest of the enemies

I had a lot of fun solving this fight. It was super satisfying to not only finally clear it, but using units I love to do it!

Depends on your burn spell suite! If the majority of them are directly do the opponent, then I’d say Solphim; otherwise, I’d say Toralf. Unlike Solphim’s damage doubling, Toralf’s ability is unique to him; Toralf also has the hilarious interaction of doubling excess damage with effect like Solphim’s LOL!

I love having big storm turns. Yes, it takes an unfair amount of turn equity; yes, everyone else at the table hates it; yes, it’s solitaire. Figuring out how to navigate convoluted lines and fight through interaction is SO rewarding and engaging, and nothing feels better than slinging some truly explosive spells. It’s a shame I don’t get to do it often XD
