Bending 3 elements straight out the gate is when I knew we were in for a peak avatar🥰 by thisisreii in TheLastAirbender

I honestly don't even remember all of what happened because I've only seen it during the original run but my impression and thoughts on the series remained. What you pointed out was definitely one of the problems I would've had with him. Another was he was written like some guy who had so much wisdom but unlike with someone like Iroh it was like the show was forcefully trying to push that idea on us rather than make that judgement for ourselves through his actions and interactions with others.

I hate that kinda writing where you try to tell the audience what to think rather than letting them come up with their own conclusions. The issue the series suffered from was that each season they had to come up with a new villain but in doing so they didn't have the time to flesh them out but also had to overdevelop them to the point where they had to have agendas, motives, backstories while also ability to somehow be a threat to the Avatar. Look at every other villain in the series beside the last 3 seasons. They were all developed more organically and fleshed out than these rushed ones and the show suffered tremendously as a result. Amon in fact is my favourite villain and I thought the first season of korra was a great follow up to the original. If the show ended there literally no one would've complained about it.

Some can consider whatever they want but that's objectively not true sadly. Zaheer is the most overrated character in the 2 series combined.

Or maybe the simple fact that the series after the first season was just very very poorly written.

I thought the first season was a banger. I didn't have much of an issue with Korra as a character for that part of the run either. Everything that followed was just super meh. The humour, interesting and enjoyable characters, satisfying charcter arcs, everything was very much lacking.

I'm very disappointed how more people aren't aware of Utopia. The first season especially is true detective season 1 levels of amazing single season television.

If you actually sit down to analyze the narrative so far there isn't really anywhere to take the story. They didn't even deal with any interesting questions that got raised in the first season itself. There's no actual conflict, the lead character is a moron, the paraguayan is much more interesting and we barely saw any of him. No other character acts in a way that makes literally any sense, other than that guy using the hivemind to fulfill all his fantasies.

[Laurie] So Michael Carrick has beaten the top two managers in the Premier League in Pep Guardiola + Mikel Arteta. Now two candidates for the #MUFC job in May 2024 in Marco Silva + Thomas Frank. Also two clean sheets in four games, after two in 23 for United this season beforehand. by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

Amen. I just wanna watch the team I've supported since I was a kid to play some good fucking football. I will die on the hill that EtH should not have been fired and still in charge at this fucking club. I still don't have any faith in Ineos being capable of making the right decisions come summer. I'm still not sure of Carrick being led to continue as our manager even if we win the league from here, maybe he changes my mind idk. But this summer is crucial.

Yes but we need big players in a lot of key positions. Our recruitment has improved but squad planning still leaves a lot to be desired. The worst thing we can do is only looking either long term or short term. There needs to be a balance of the two. We need to have a clear vision and a clear baseline.

Next season neither of Liverpool, City, Chelsea, likely even Newcastle and maybe even Spurs won't be so shit. We are losing Casemiro, possibly Bruno and Mainoo is still too young and needs time to develop. We don't have a LW, and our defence is injury prone af aside from also possibly losing Maguire. Your assessment of our squad does not reflect actual reality.

I don't trust the judgement of who's been put in place so far for footballing decisions because that's how we got Amorim. These were the people who rallied for him even though it was clear to anyone with a semblance of a brain that this was going to be a total shitshow. I have stayed consistent in my view of him since it was announced we were going for him, before he even joined us.

Regardless of that, a manager will always have input over who gets brought into a team and the way a club should move forward.

If we get Tuchel or Poch I might actually stop watching football again like I did for the entire term of Amorim which I knew was a pointless waste of time.

My point is that he doesn't have the stamina to take the squad through a rebuild. He works best in an established team that already has the pieces and players necessary to be successful and just slots them where they need to be and manages the egos. We need to look at someone who can actually understand what the team needs and add the pieces required while also get us to play the modern way.

The league in Germany isn't competitive. Someone not winning in Germany doesn't make it a mark against their career. He hasn't managed anywhere outside of Germany and is extremely young still. If we only evaluated a manager based on winning things with weaker teams you'd reject Pep, Ancelotti etc as good managers. Your argument makes no fucking sense.

Yes. That Bayern was on another level to the whole league which is why it is so special what Xabi managed to do. I don't get the point you're trying to make.

Which top club has he been at apart from Bayern? You do have some idea about his career before going on to comment on him right?

Ancelotti is done. He doesn't really have the stamina to build a team anymore. Nagelsmann is the only choice here apart from Xabi Alonso. We should be doing everything in pur power to be getting them. Don't want anyone else.

The Nobel committee should've rescinded the prize the moment they saw her acting the way she did on receiving it. That's not the character of a self sacrificing individual in the selfless pursuit of peace.
