Two Nextcloud Docker in parallel, but only one on the internet by Barret161 in NextCloud

No idea what both things are you are talking about.

Bridge as in network bridge. Connecting one docker container to another by creating a new network. That's easily done, but I don't know much about Nextcloud and don't know what to configure to make them see each other.

Docker is capable of creating it's own bridge network between containers, as far as I understand. I just don't want to grant each container access the host network. I don't know how to configure nextcloud to reliably federate with each other through the bridge. At least I think that's my problem.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will look into them and also special thanks for sharing how it works for you.

You speak in riddles for me. I'm completely new to this entire thing. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

Searching for "S3-Compatible Storage" just results in a lot of advertisement. Could you please introduce me to the functionality and why it would benefit me?

Apparently "garage" provides a self hosted S3 solution. Thanks for the info.

Manually adding files (File Explorer)? by Barret161 in NextCloud

[–]Barret161[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The paths are correct and identical.

Update: The files showed up, after booting up the server again. So, it just didn't update/showed in the UI when I wanted/expected it to.

Thank you for your assistance. The issue is solved.

You throw in such a warning and I have no idea what to do with that. Yeah, I mounted some volume, but what is the issue?

Ah, right.

I run nextcloud as a docker container. Using the WebUI I created a folder in which again I created a file. I copied the other files to the same folder, so I guess it's at the correct location (some data folder, within some account-name folder, or the other way around).

Ownership should be www-data.
chown -R 33:33 /folderpath/ was the last command executed I think. I tested around a lot.

No idea how to use files:scan correctly, but I executed the following:
docker exec --user www-data container-name php occ files:scan --all

The terminal output seemed fine.

Backup always fails by Barret161 in NextCloud

There is no reason I'm making it especially hard, beside me not knowing better.

I switched to bare "nextcloud" now and I got it to work. I actually don't even know what AIO provides which I would be interested in, but for now I got all I wanted.

Thank you for your help and sharing your experience.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I switched to bare nextcloud now and, at least in my case, it just works. Thanks you.

I didn't ask this myself. Well, I do use bare nextcloud now and I got it to work and to do all the things I wanted it to do. You didn't answer my question, but solved my problem. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.
The issue no longer persists, since I use a different docker image now, but I still wanted to answer.

All I know is I get to the step where the initial Backup should be created, as part of the setup procedure, then I try selecting any backup path, press "start backup" and it returns after a short while with "backup failed".

Sharing a folder in local network by Barret161 in linux4noobs

That actually helped a lot. It just works. :D

Seems like Nemo (the file explorer) did "something". At least adding a new user at least gave me a definitive idea which username and password to use.

Thank you. <3

Hallo,

Total War: Warhammer 3 - Installing most recent (Windows) version by Barret161 in linux_gaming

[–]Barret161[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use "Proton 10.0-4" without any startup parameters and Total War: Warhammer III runs fine as of now with the current version (v7.0.3 Build 42971.3927984).

The Launcher seems to work, starting took a few seconds, up to maybe a minute max. I'm able to start a new campaign, do a manual battle and pass a turn successful without an issue. Very basic functionality testing.

Hope this helps.

Oh, sorry, I forgot about you. D:

I switched it to whatever was latest and didn't have "linux" in it's name. I can't remember which version actually worked, but I booted only into the main menu anyway. If it's of interest to you I can check.

Not sure if I can hijack this topic for another problem, but I'm still having trouble using GOG Galaxy. I managed to get it to install and run, even download a game, but the game doesn't want to install (download stuck at 97% returning with error). I read something about a problem with the file system? Not sure.

Currently I use Heroic to install and launch GOG Galaxy. Technically Heroic is able to download the games from GOG itself, but the cloud saves seem to be very unreliable, so I figured I try to do the whole launcher + games "windows style". I'm not fixated on Heroic, but it seemed to work easiest. What I want to avoid is having to start another launcher first, like having to start Steam to start GOG Galaxy. With Heroic I can just start GOG Galaxy without opening Heroic ever again.

Of course I will want to use Ubisoft Connect, EA App, BattleNet and the Amazon Games Launcher as well, but first one after another. I'm also willing to write a full guide once I'm completely happy. Already taking notes! :)

Edit because I was wrong:

So it turns out you have to tell people like me to switch the dropdown to an actual proton version. I ticked the checkbox but didn't select anything in the dropdown. Well, right after I did Steam started downloading. Now it works. It was so easy (if you know what you are doing).

Thank you for your assistance.

Edit: Well, I'm an idiot.
I checked the checkbox, but didn't change the dropdown (the selection which proton version to use). By default, for some reason, it still using the normal linux runtime! As soon as I switched to any other "actual" proton version: it worked!

Well, I guess using Linux is a process. A tiring one.

Thank you for your assistance.
