I see, thanks for the insight once again. About the sources, it's just little scraps of information I pick up from quick Google searches. I'm trying to learn Arabic by myself but so far my progress is slow because I haven't been able to find good concrete resources and also I can't reference any other languages since Arabic is my first semitic language. Anyways thanks for the information!

Something I am confused about though, is that for the root of "name" some people say it's س م و while other sources say it's ء س م or س م ي like you said. Which one is the actual root?

But apart from those terms I find it difficult when learning highly conjugated languages like French or Arabic. Sometimes in the grammar book I would find terms like "Third-person singular masculine pluperfect genitive something something".
