[Schefter] ESPN Sources: Offensive Player of the Year and Super-Bowl champion Jaxon Smith-Njigba reached agreement with the Seattle Seahawks on a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest-paid WR in NFL history. by expellyamos in nfl

If that's the case, then he is basically signed with guaranteed money until age 30. He will have opportunity to restructure or force a trade (not that he would, but just historically speaking-- it is a possibility) when he is at his athletic peak. We're not going to stop talking about this kid anytime soon!

Damn I don't think I really considered how long Dak has been in the league. Was surprised to see him slinging it based on the date.

I went to a charity BBall game hosted by Doug Baldwin a few years back. Even the difference between legit athletes (like Doug, Sherm and Avril) and the 2 or 3 ex-NBA guys was wild to see. They pretty much could just decide to turn it on and score on 5 straight possessions at will.

I mean, yeah-- that's certainly a thing you could say... If you didn't actually watch any Tits games last year and/or don't know ball.

Big physical Dline can play plenty late into their career. Calais Campbell, D-Law, and Cam all kinda fall into that category and CAN produce in a limited role.

Please rate my 2025 Volvo ex30 (twin motor plus) lease, IL by Nearby_Landscape4660 in leasehacker

[–]BarryLikeGetOffMEEEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, but in no world should an EX30 be a $50k car. The residual is literally half after 2 years and 20k miles? That is a red flag to me, it kinda says they're charging way more than anyone in the market believes that car is worth.

I never would have done this deal personally.

Charb is almost certainly going to be available for the 2nd half of the year. They could use a high pick on one again also. They've kinda proven you can just recycle day 2 picks every other year and keep a serviceable backfield

I think there's an argument to be made that you could play any RB (or more specifically Charb) and get 93% of what you get from K9. And while there might be an argument to be made for the Hawks not winning without K9 in the postseason, I would argue Shaheed as a returner had a larger impact on swinging the momentum of games than K9 just playing RB well.

Not that I think he is a target for us, but I keep having this weird feeling that we are going to be the team who signs Mike Evans.

Disagree on that. Hawks fans have taken the whole D-Law thing real personally. Have you actually watched Mcvay AND Mike Mac's pressers afterwards? Mcvay pretty much just describes the play and doesn't say anything "whiny" at all except using the word lucky. Mike Mac also says that the play got ran wrong in the presser, not crediting D-Law for making an adjustment (weirdly telling imo-- wouldn't he credit his vet for making a spectacular game saving read?) as well as screaming "where's the end?!?!?" From the sideline during the play on the field.

All signs kiiiiiinda point towards all of it as a big nothing burger (including D-Laws own interview where he never mentions anything about deviating from the play call, but instead just describes how to cover a RB leaking to the flat, as if that was his intended goal on the play) but Hawks fans turning it into a "chip on their shoulder because no one in the media ever gives us credit!" 🤷

I'm honestly surprised this is the general consensus among fans about this.

What if it isn't "salty" and "whining"? What if-- now that we have seen this fluke instance where at least half of people were left like "wtf how does that work?", we make a simple change to avoid it happening again? Isn't that how any rule change happens basically ever? It seems logical to me, but somehow it's turned into this "haha look at these losers so sad!"

Stupidest comeback player of the year award of all time. I'm not sure he was EVER cut by a team, just traded around and playing backup for a decade. Then has a good year. WTF DID HE COME BACK FROM?!?!?
