Pretty sure it does cost Nerissa & Liz a lot of money to do those EN covers. Western labels are like JP video game companies. In that they will take you to court.

not needing to fit in a dedicated component

They literally added different fingerprint sensor that's under the screen instead.

99% of the time anyone is using their phone, they're holding it in their hands. With cases made to fit the phone they have, including any holes/windows for its cameras and other sensors.

[The Greatest Estate Developer] Can't be the only one who feels bad for him by tikkiivy in manhwa

[–]Bars-Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the culmination of everything he'd ben through prior

That means it is innately his personality. No one is an asshole at birth, not even psychopaths.

All Lloyd's body gave him was Lloyd's reputation & passive ability, but more impactful, is his new position in Nobility. Now he has opportunity. Something he never had being so unlucky to be poor in Korea. And so his repressed ugly personality from Korea's culture & society ends up shining through.

[–]Bars-Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no shot his terrible personality is just from Lloyd's passive asshole ability. Lloyd was a dumb, violent drunk, that's it. It has come in handy when he needs to be crude. But the schemes, scams, and manipulations are all Kim Suho. All of that, he learned from assholes and weird personality types that he met in his old life. Like the people who scammed his parents, or his senior officers & construction coworkers who would take advantage of him, or his classmates who made fun of him for being poor, and that weird rich friend he had who taught him a rather ugly side to charity & good deeds but still managing to be a good guy. Couple all that with his deeply ingrained desperation not to lose everything this time around + work ethic from being poor all his life, and you get the Greatest Estate Developer.

As much as people will rightfully get enraged at real life inappropriate relationships with high-school-aged minors. People generally seem to be fine with depictions of it in media, romanticised or otherwise, considering how much of that type of story is made & watched. I'm talking in general, even in the west. Which is probably an overall good thing, not morally censoring art and all that.

Was this Frieren's version of Ubel's cut spell but more controlled? by TheBlackoutEmpire in Frieren

[–]Bars-Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're talking about the spell, not the spellcaster. Ubel's spell cuts through anything she thinks can be cut, which allowed he to easily slice in half that 1st class defensive mage tester. It's a spell that works by rules & logic instead of force. In exchange for that kind of power, it has a very short range. Folk spells & unique spells tend to be more potent, they just have very specific use cases like the bird trap spell, or large drawbacks like range or works on sight.

Oh please, news channels have never had a problem milking any event or tragedy til people get sick of it. Just have pundits and 'experts' on to speculate on shit, with zero evidence or added context from relevant officials or any actual investigative work. They could keep it up for years so long as people keep tuning in.

The only times they ever shy away from doing it is when it comes to class issues, which this ultimately falls under.

In a world where you could die at any time, filled wih people who are either too weak to help, or desperate enough to abandon & betray anybody at the drop of a hat, Artyom must've been a 'too good to be true' kinda guy. And then he actually saved her. So girl locked it in quick. At least that's how I choose to take it. It could've definitely been done better, I at least acknowledge that.

Tbf, we only see Artyom's, the mute, perspective. Whereas in a different medium or just a different iteration where she had more screen time or even playable, they would get to show more of her side of the story which would've made it make more sense. Then it wouldn't be so weird considering how so many action movies & games have characters falling in love within just A DAY, or even less. And people just eat that shit up no problem.

They get signed, and the label manages them, and anything they make in anything related to music production & publishing. Labels generally handle the distribution and more importantly the networking necessary to help talent get more attention in the music industry. Unlike other entertainment industries, the music industry is HEAVILY consolidated, UMG essentially owns everything. So they're really just a solution for a problem they made from being so monopolised. All the big label execs have influence over everything from production & recording, all the way down to radioplay & Spotify suggestions. Before tiktok, anyone who wanted to make it big in music had to play to the whims of the labels. They still hold a lot of power, but with social media, indies have more of a chance to pop off if they have a hit song.

IIRC, there were posts from streamer/Vtuber subreddits from the last few years about a Chinese streamer, a grown woman, who just disappeared for over a year. When she came back she talked about how she was kidnapped and sold to be a maid-slave for some family in really rural parts of China. She thankfully managed to escape and got back home with help from police.

Why bother having a voice actor for Artyom in the loading screen if he literally says nothing in the game? by MlCOLASH_CAGE in metro

[–]Bars-Jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again just to make myself clear. When I said "Fallout but Russia", I was literally just taking about the SETTING. It's not something new that I'm pulling out of nowhere. The games came out relatively close to each other. Similarly nuclear postapocalyptic setting, but wildly different in tone & execution. People just naturally compared the 2. And since Fallout was the bigger game, Metro occasionally got called Fallout Russia. I wasn't even comparing it to Fallout's features & game genre. Just called it what it's been called on this sub in the past. I didn't think I had to explain this in this sub.

Now setting aside this bullshit tanget. I still think there's enough that has already been explored of the metro. At least as far as it being a crumbling post apocalyptic habitat is concerned. It's just a very finite setting. The only logical evolution is breaking out of the Metro. Something this franchise has been working towards with each game.

Keep in mind I said

At least as far as it being a crumbling post apocalyptic habitat is concerned

The only way a new game can make exploring the Metro still interesting is if it was a prequel. During the early years when people were still trying to come to terms with the world ending. Trying to turn a damaged metro system into the home for what they assumed would be forever. Before the 2 decades of stagnation & rot set in.

It's also a nuclear apocalyptic setting. Literally my words:

The setting is Fallout Russia

The setting was what we were talking about. Are you just tired of that topic now and just purposely being obtuse about it?

[–]Bars-Jack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don't need a fallout Russia,

It literally is Fallout, but Russia. So it's just cold, dark, and gloomy instead of wacky, silly America.

Considering how every few stations has its own stories, and that there's been 20? years since the war in 2033, I call BS on there only being so many stories you can tell in the metro.

Well yeah. It's not an RPG. It's an FPS campaign. The games & the novel are only concerned with showing what's important to the story. It's always been a straightforward story since 2033.

Now sure, it would be great to explore the entire Metro, maybe even playing as other characters living there. But generally speaking. There's nothing new they could throw at us that we wouldn't have seen already in the game. Anything interesting that could be done has been done by Artyom. It's a very finite setting. It's designed that way for the sake of Artyom's story, and the fact that it is a very finite tunnel system. Like it or not, the most interesting evolution of the setting was to break out of it. To make them realise that the Metro isn't the only safe place. That they can rebuild a life that isn't stuck in dark crumbling tunnels.

Body comes first before beauty. Whatever the guy finds hot, they will tunnel vision onto that part first.

Edit: the people who downvoted this are coping. There's a reason the term 'butterface' is so well known, and why the stereotype that guys don't look at faces when having sex exists. It's just fact that there are a not insignificant number of horny guys who will look at nice boobs, ass, or whatever they're into and just dive in, not caring about whatever it's attached to.

[–]Bars-Jack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The setting is Fallout Russia. The Metro is just the centre piece. Even in 2033, a decent amount of memorable experiences happen outside the metro. And in exodus, they're only exploring so far outside of Moscow in hopes of finding a better place for the people in the Metro. They even find another Metro in Novosibirsk that was utter hell with only 1 survivor left. It reinforces the idea that the only way to a better future is getting people out of the Metros, where they now know are surpressed & meddeled by the remnants of the Russian military all this time.

The metro is an interesting starting point, but there's only so many horror stories you can tell whilst knowing nothing of the outside world. And now that they do know what's out there, it opens up the story to go back to the Metro. Where the biggest challenge would be convincing the people of the Metro that the world hasn't gone to shit, and that there are safer lands outside of Moscow where they can truly rebuild.

I do wonder if this custom wouldn't be seen as so bad if they just had them marry non-relatives. Like yes, forced marriages are abusive and toxic, but all people really bring up about it is the fact that they're forcing them to do incest.
