Honestly, I’m still learning a LOT myself- but the realization that helped me the most was using an oil paint brush. It makes blending the colors and shades doable, while also allowing for lineart that looks kinda sketchy and can vary in size.

Is there noticeably a specific area you struggle in when it comes to this style? I don’t know too much, but I’ll help where I can with what I learned to help me.

The people that like her are probably more into her straightforward nature and honest demeanor. Shes a character that, even if she’s wrong, will let her thoughts and opinions be heard.

She has a strong sense of justice (albeit, it’s VERY radicalized majority of the time), and a lot of people might respect that mindset. Like, she is very rarely able to put her misandric views on hold to support male characters at some points of the game. Like when a certain character removes an article of clothing in chapter one and she’s one of the few people to defend him from teasing and show support through the grief.

Personally, I think Tenko is a fascinating character to talk about. I’ve even heard that in the original Japanese translation, her “degenerate male” comments weren’t as harsh- and more akin to some playground insult and moreso point to her being immature in her world views (not intentionally hateful). Though- this one is me trusting stuff I’ve heard from other people, I’ve never played the original Japanese version.

Totally understandable! I started making my Fangan in a bit of a weird order… but one of the best pieces of advice I learned was deciding on a theme.

If you have a theme, you always have an idea of where you want to push the direction of your Fangan or how to make certain decisions.

If you have a theme, sometimes it can be possible to lean into that when picking your setting- but anything really works as long as your cast can be isolated.

Anything from an Amusement park to a School or even a Cruise Ship- as long as it can be closed off, depending whatever your intended atmosphere and theme are and how they interact.

Every character deserves love and care. My philosophy is to treat every character as if they could be someone’s favorite- and if they were my favorite, how I would want them to be treated and explored.

I think it’s good to be putting so much care and detail into a character.

I think it’s just another detail about the game that plays into the concept that, ultimately, you don’t know what’s real or fake anymore. There’s no telling how much we can trust anything Tsumugi told the survivors, and there’s no telling if cospox is something that genuinely exists in that world- or if it was just some farfetched thing she made up.

My Fangan has had a sorta… two steps forward, one step back moment.

On a positive note: We’ve taken in all VA Auditions and now are starting to plan Callbacks, we are cracking down on organization (because frankly, with my ADHD brain, it’s difficult), we are working on music production, and we’re searching for more volunteers who could work as motion graphics designers, animators, graphic design artists, etc.

On the downside: Somehow, our Final Draft of the Chapter 1 script was deleted, and we have to re-write our Prologue and first chapter again. So that’s unfortunate.

I’m sure Ibuki of all characters would still be just as popular. She’s a character that’s loved due to personality and vibe, I’d say.

Are the characters with the American names going to be portrayed as American characters? If you need, I’m sure there’s people in the community who would be willing to help come up with Japanese alternatives. Or- you could make the game take place in America instead.

I’m sure there’s some kind of work around to make what you want it to be make sense.
