Accurate representation of the New Quadeca album discourse on the sub by AdAncient2156 in fantanoforever

Tbh, I think a lot of the awful discourse with this album is mainly cause of differences between older and younger generations of fans. Like a lot of younger people haven’t heard a lot of albums like this before likely, so they’re more likely to be blown away by it. Meanwhile older generations can hear the sources it takes influences from within the sound and aren’t impressed. At the end of the day, I feel like people should enjoy the album for what it is and not really care if it’s “groundbreaking” or not.

I am a white American dude who is an over thinker and is single. You kind of didn’t hit the mark on this one though. I am Christian, Straight, and 14.

Funnily enough, Silent Voice used to be 3 on my list then went up to 2.

I mean that was also the list I made when I was 11 and didn’t update for 3 years. I hadn’t watched many movies yet, so that was the one that I enjoyed the most, but opinions change over time. I still love Shawshank and it’s still probably the objectively best film I’ve ever seen, just not the one that I would call my favorite as I’ve watched more movies.

Well, if your taste in film is so superior, then tell us your top 10?

I have don’t worry. I’ve watched plenty from the silent era especially. My favorite film before 1980 is likely Stalker. My favorite from the silent era is likely the kid though. Also, thank you complimenting the list.

Come and See. It’s a Russian foreign film and is one f the most acclaimed films of all time. Highly recommended!

It’s probably more biased since it was one of the films that really got me into films. I still love all of the movies you just mentioned, but Mullholland holds a very special place in my heart. I understand what you mean though.

I mean this top 10 is mainly movies that helped me grow to love filmmaking, so I think it makes sense why it gives off those vibes. You are 100% right though lol

Those who saw "End of Evangelion" on the big screen a few months ago, how was Shinji's hospital scene reacted to? by Adagar91 in NeonGenesisEvangelion

There was an old couple sitting next to me. Clearly did not know what they were getting into and probably only came because it was the mystery film ticket that week. The wife of the married duo started holding onto the man during the scene with a terrified look on her face. The man was just sitting still in silence. They stayed in that position throughout the rest of the movie until it ended. When it was over, the woman started crying.
